The university mission, vision and core values are important steps towards

creating a successful future. It can guide students through tough decision making as

it relates to policies and resources. The vision and mission are reliable presentations

of what university stands for. The vision states that this Science and Technology

University is known for giving the important relationship between the education and

the economy because educated people can more efficiently carry out tasks that

involve reading and critical thinking, a country’s economy becomes more productive

as the proportion of educated workers. The mission therefore states to bring the work

into actual higher education and train the students with equipped knowledge. To help

entrepreneurs to maximize their business from thinking a product up to

commercialization. Core values are not aspirations, they are practical. The behavior

that we practice in accordance with the rule and policies in the school. It is define

how everyone will work together to achieve the school’s vision and carry out its

mission.

The USTP Graduate Attributes, is the traits, abilities, and knowledge that

students should acquire as a result of their experiences and learning while attending

college and among those USTP graduate attributes, the key strengths that I possess

are Resilience and Teamwork and Collaboration. Resilience, in the midst of this

pandemic we are all facing different challenges in our lives and what I do is to move

forward towards my goals. Even though people might see me as a happy and

unproblematic person that does not mean that I experience less distress, anxiety,

sadness or depression than other people do. It just mean that I use healthy coping

skills to handle such difficulties in ways that it gives me strength, help me grow as a

person and become more stronger than before. Teamwork and Collaboration,

whenever we have activity groupings I always cooperate with the group, I give my

ideas and I also listen to their ideas and suggestions. I’m not the type of member

who always depends on the leader. It’s important for the group to have teamwork

and collaboration, to share ideas, knowledge, build communication with the group,

come up with good outcome and to achieve the goals that they want. So, the USTP

graduate attributes is important for the students for them to be in order to cope with

the challenges young people face in a modern world, they need to be equipped with

a broad set of skills and knowledge that they can acquire and develop throughout

life, instead of a fixed set of skills or knowledge, and they need the ability to adapt to

change.

Gender Awareness and Development, is a development perspective that

recognizes the unequal status and situation of women and men in society. As we

have observe in our society we can see some discrimination from both genders and

even with the LGBTQ community. So the goal of this gender awareness and

development is to ensure that both gender can participate in the community that is

equitable. Women and men have different development needs and interests, which

is institutionalized and perpetuated by cultural, social, economic and political norms,

systems and structures. In terms of education, as a future teacher we need to give

equal access to our students and be open minded from their ideas because we have

different perspective thus we need to understand and accept each other’s ideas. As

a development approach, gender awareness and development seeks to equalize the

status and condition of and relations between women and men by influencing the

process and output of policy-making, planning, budgeting, implementation and

monitoring, and evaluation so that they would deliberately address the gender issues

and concerns affecting the full development of women and men in the society.

Peace Education therefore, is to prepare students to be responsible citizens

who can analyze the roots of violence, act to improve the chances of peace, and are

open to differences, empathetic, and solidaristic both inside and across borders and

social groupings. Which easily means to resolve conflict peacefully or to create

peace. In a world where acts of violence fill our newsfeeds and there is a prevalence

of pain and hurt around us, peace takes root in the form of education. Peace

education is important for people of all ages. As children grow, they form their own

unique worldview and they learn how to interact with the people around them.

Learning about peace is a wonderful opportunity for children to build peaceful

perspectives of the world around them. If we can equip kids with the skills that they

need to be human beings who build healthy relationships and solve problems in

ways that value the inherent dignity of others, our world will benefit now and in the

future. As a future teacher, we need to create safe relationships in the classroom in

which to explore and learn from mistakes.
