MORAL COMPASS

Everybody has an ethical and moral stance on what is good and wrong, thus our perspective likely has
more of an impact than we realize on our behavior and how we interact with others. When one has a duty to
do something, it is right to do it. If one must refrain from performing a certain activity, it is improper to do so.
A person is not required to take an activity if it is only good. It's not always necessary to refrain from acting if
something is merely bad.

As a future nurse, I am well aware that in view of the fact that healthcare professionals must detect
ethical challenges and make moral decisions while abiding by the regulations that control them, ethics within
the industry is crucial. The community won't appreciate healthcare workers if they don't adhere to these
fundamental ideals. A comfortable environment for patients and medical staff can be greatly facilitated by
adherence to ethical norms. The concept of medical ethics must be distinguished from the idea of not hurting
patients in order to be understood as an applied professional concept. Moral conundrums are crucial because
they enable people to reflect on their moral character and identity in light of the decisions they make in the
face of difficult choices or circumstances. In addition to fostering greater ethical decision-making, the practice
may improve academic achievement as a student who is training to be a registered nurse. Analyzing ethical
quandaries can enhance reasoning and critical thinking abilities, which are beneficial in many academic
contexts. The dangers that patients confront are taken into account when nurses make clinical decisions,
therefore they should exercise critical thinking. Several elements, such as experience, expertise, environment,
team, supervisor support, and professionalism, affect the clinical decisions made by nurses. Making moral
choices fosters and maintains trust, and they are congruent with good citizenship. They also show respect,
accountability, justice, and care. By establishing the ground rules for human behavior, these behaviors serve
as a foundation for better decision-making.

In view of the fact that healthcare professionals must detect ethical challenges and make moral
decisions while abiding by the regulations that control them, ethics within the industry is crucial and that
concludes my moral map who’s coming from the point of view of a student nurse.
