Dear Parents and Guardians,

Greetings from Aga Khan Academy, Hyderabad! The Grade 11 Advisor Team hopes that this email
finds you fit, healthy, and ready for the start of a new academic year. All in all, it has been a
challenging year where we have found ourselves appreciating the smaller things in life. And yet, it
is a reminder that these ‘smaller things’ have always been the most important in life!
Though we are starting this academic year in a virtual learning mode again, all signs point to
another incredible and productive school year. This year we will continue with our learning from
the past and the adaptations that we have introduced last year in our distance learning model that
is designed to establish and maintain stronger relationships between students and teachers while
developing student independence and ensuring their access to academic excellence.
You, the parents and guardians of our students, are a vital part of this amazing learning community.
There is one request that we make of Grade 11 parents and guardians this year- please provide
your children with space:
● physical space to carry out their studies diligently;
● emotional space founded on trust - please first assume they are doing their best;
● and intellectual space that encourages questioning and self-study through positive
reinforcement.

I encourage you to read the Distance Learning Programme brochure, which was shared with you
earlier in the week and can be found here . This outlines the Academy-specific LEAP programme,
Learning Enrichment, Online Enrichment Programme, Global Engagement, Inter-Disciplinary
Studies, and ATL skills. We expect this innovative and individualized timetable to make our
students’ learning experience an exceptional one.

Most of you will know me as the Integrated Humanities teacher in Middle Years Programme and
Global Politics teacher in the Diploma Programme. It gives me immense amount of joy to see this
grade grow and adapt so well to the increased responsibilities required during the Distance
Learning Programme. This year, is now about establishing a groove, a pattern of positive personal,
social, and academic behaviours, that will allow the students to thrive now, and be prepared for
the Diploma Programme. We all, as a team of advisors, teachers, students, and parents, must work
to the highest possible standards to achieve this together.
As we embark on this journey, the challenges our students will encounter will help them become
better leaders. We are excited to introduce our Advisors who will lead Grade 11 students. I have

I would like to thank the excellent Advisor team in advance for all the efforts they will be putting in
to support our students this year.
