“Successful People Without a Formal Education”

We knew that education is an important part of our entire life. The more educated you
are, the more successful you will become. In most cases, people who did not have formal
education probably headed to a tough career and unsuccessful life. That is the common idea, but,
in our history there are successful people who did not receive a formal or good education.
Thomas Edison: Thought by his mother to read and write as he was expelled from his
school because they thought he was to slow to learn. He was just 3 months in high school. He
sold newspapers, candy and tobacco on train and changed from one job to another before
devoting himself to inventing. He invented the light bulb, and motion picture camera and stock
ticker.
Bill Gates: Is a Harvard dropout who became billionaire today. He spent at least 2 years
in Harvard before dropout. He became the founder and chief executive of Microsoft. He is also
an entrepreneur and author and a philanthropist.
Michael Dell: A college drop out at the age of 19. He was the founder of Dell Inc. that
contributed to the computer revolution.
Steve Jobs: A college dropout who co-founded the Apple Inc. He introduced the
Macintosh which is recognized as one of the pioneers of the computer revolution. He believes
that technology will help save lives and not charity.
Paul Allen: Co-founder of the Microsoft who drop out from University of Washington.
He was also the founder of Xiant and he was well known as the “idea man”. He became
billionaire in early 30’s.

Mark Zuckerberg: A Harvard dropout and the founder of Facebook. He believes that “it is more
important to connect the world than to offer services for money.”
