Stranded in the Desert

It was the summer holidays and Nathan, Mohammed and Mansour were so excited that
they didn't have to go to school for a whole month! They all met up at the local park and
were thinking of things to do. Nathan suggested that they take a bus to Abu Dhabi. He
heard some friends talking about it and was interested in going to Ferrari World and Yos
Mall. Even though it was hot outside, around 35 degrees, they decided they wanted to do
something fun so they packed a few snacks, a notebook and pen and told their parents
they would be back sunset
On the journey, they spent time taking selfies, and photos of all of the amazing buildings
‘and tourists attractions they saw whilst they were on the bus. They were having so much
fun they forgot to get off at Yas Island and it started to get dark. The bus driver rang the
bell and told them they needed to leave now as the bus needed to be cleaned. When they
got off the bus, sand started to blow at their feet! They in the middle of the desert!
Mansour tried to make a call on his phone but he had no signal and Nathan and
Mohammed's phones were out of battery. What were they going to do?
The desert was dark and quiet so they decided to sleep and think of a plan in the
morning. By sunrise, Mansour said he had heard a story about a man thot got trapped
in the desert and put notes everywhere. They decided to do the same and let their
parents know they are sorry. They started to walk south to try and find a road, as this is
the way the bus came. They had no snacks, no water and were tired but they kept on
walking. Time passed ond they were scared they would never make it home. They all
stopped, fell and decided it would be best to take a nap and start walking again
tomorrow. The next day, Mohammed. Mansour and Nathan had just woken up and were
greeted by a camel! The camel stood there and looked at them and started to growl. His
‘owner came running towards him and saw the three boys. "Who are you, why are you
here, is this yours?" He was holding a note written by Nathan. "Yes, that is mine! We are
lost, please help us." He said he would help them but on one condition. They should helo
him feed his camels and goats in his farm and the animals in the house. The man whose
name was Arran gave them the food for the animals and they started right away. Once
they had finished he cooked them some chicken soup and they were really happy that
they found this man, he wos so kind and friendly.
Arran helped the boys to find the road and directed them to the bus stop. Thankfully
they had also been able to charge their phones and called their parents. Although they
were angry they were all so happy to know the boys were safe. They found the bus to
Dubai and made the journey back home after a very long trip!
