CRITICAL COMMENT. ABOUT THE BOOK “Satan wakes up in hill Paradise”

The book in general is about the reason why men or human beings today
lost heaven. Milton's Paradise Lost is an epic of great dramatic force,
which weighs the motives of original sin and sets the stage for "satan's
expulsion from heaven," and thus transcends the explicit content of the
passages. The work, which includes more than 10,000 verses, describes
the abyss of hell and the human psyche with the help of a collection of
Baroque images. The text does not omit any details, even when it comes
to the sexual intimacy of Adam and Eve. The consequences of taking the
apple (and with-it knowledge) are presented on a world theatrical stage
that culminates in the salvation history of the New Testament. Perhaps
Milton's primary purpose was to glorify God and glorify His infinite
righteousness, but the poem can also be read in another way. This is what
the Romantic poets did, and this is what many readers do today who are
not so much interested in theological postulates as in the dichotomy
between divine omnipotence and human freedom, between good and
evil, between acceptance and resistance. In other words, the work is full
of timeless themes, so it's no wonder it's inspired generations of writers.
