Katy,
appreciate EDAWN’s concern regarding how important the school board trustees are to the community. I too
am concerned about Mr. Beadles and his influence on the election.
However, because I have my own election, I don’t endorse other candidates. Adam asked me and I told him if I
didn’t get an opponent I would endorse. I have one and won’t be on the ballot until November. I support Adam
but won't be endorsing
ve had several other requests for my endorsement, but because of my own race I don’t endorse.
Sorry, if this was an off cycle election for my race, I could help. Thank you.

Hi Charlene,
Hope all is going well with you! Thank you for all the support you give to education (and so many other
important causes!). You are truly a remarkable leader.
We at EDAWN are very worried about the knuckleheads that are running in each School Board race, funded by
that Beadle fellow. If even one of them gets elected, they will constitute the second vote needed to get an
unlimited array of nonsense agenda items on the School Board's agenda, dragging down the efficient and
necessary work of the Board. Because of EDAWN's legal status, we can’t openly advocate for any candidates
as an organization, but individuals such as board members can who are not speaking for EDAWN.
Mike Kazmierski and I wondered if you would be willing to send a note as an individual to your fellow EDAWN
Board members urging them to vote for the following as appropriate to their voting precinct, and to spread the
word:
Beth Smith
‘Adam Mayberry
Joe Rodriguez
Ellen Minetto
1 know you have endorsed Adam Mayberry, as I have. He's a saint to be doing this! These folks are supported
by teachers, parents, labor, the AGC, the Realtors, law enforcement—you name it. They are all incumbents,
and as you know, that can be a double-edged sword. I've attached a draft OpEd I wrote that I'm hoping the
RG) will publish if you need talking points. I haven't submitted it yet until I get it cleared by the School
District, so don’t distribute, but you can use the examples if that would help you. If you need email list or
whatever, just let me know.
T know it’s a lot to ask. Thank you for considering it.
All my best,
Katy

Dale
EDAWN is a 501¢6 non-profit and while we can support or endorse candidates or issues (like a Chamber) we only
support or oppose issues generally related to economic development.
We receive some government funding for business attraction and retention, from state and local governments. About
20%,
However, our board determines the issues we support and we do not publicly endorse or oppose any
candidate. EDAWN employees are able to personally support any candidate of their choosing.
Thanks

Sir-
Is Edawn funded by local government? And does the organization endorse political candidates?
Thanks
