Pio of Pietrelcina

Padre Pio was born on May 25,

1887, in Pietrelcina, southern
Italy. Prior to his admission into
the Capuchin Friars' novitiate at
the age of 15, he received private
instruction. He struggled with his
health, but he had a strong
determination, and with grace's
assistance, he finished the needed
courses and was ordained a priest
in 1910.
