1.

In a complete paragraph of approximately 7 to 10 sentences, write an objective

summary of the article.

If a business has the goal of success and wants to sell their product(s), they must use
advertisements. In the 21st century, Advertising is at an all-time high. The free market
system has so many businesses that advertise their products to the entire world. A lot of
businesses will hire people to search for advertising trends along with good places to
put them, so that they can achieve high sales. This is where these businesses start to
compete, and if they lose and can't get their product across, they won’t strive and
usually end up failing. Some of the best places to put advertisements are social media
sites and public places. Areas that have a large population and high trafficking, for
example, newspapers or blogging sites, are also great ways to get a product across.

2. Based on what you have read, what can you infer about the relationship between
advertising and the price you pay for a product and/or service?

What you may see in advertisements, may not be exactly what you’ll get. For example,
you may see prices in some ads that are low, but then when you go to buy the item they
charge you extra because of their other mandatory transactions. The ad usually
contains the fine print that says the price you see is only valid under certain
circumstances. This is not always true though because in a sense, the more people that
know about the product and are buying it, the lesser the prices need to be. “In criticism
of advertising it has been argued that the consumer must pay for the cost of advertising
in the form of higher prices for goods; against this point it is argued that advertising
enables goods to be mass marketed, thereby bringing prices down,”(Advertising P3) .
