MOULDED PIPES K 7 FOAM-IN-PLACE a) 2 COMPONENTS CHEMICALS BOXES —— = THE MAIN APPLICATION OF RIGID POLY URETHANE FOAM IN CONSTRUCTIONS: Rigid polyure- thane foamed-cored, factory made, composite boards are used for the insu- lation of the envelope of a building (roof, walls and floors). When the composite has made rigid facings, such as steel or aluminum for example, it can be made: as fabricated sections of walls and roofs that reduce erection time dramatically and result in a building that is well insu- lated at the initial construction stage. Cut rigid polyurethane foam slabs can also be used as an insulant. Boards with thin impervious facings (such as alumi- num foil) can be used as partial cavity lining boards, while boards with a facing such as plasterboard can be used to line and insulate walls internally- particularly in the high-rise flats and old buildings ‘with solid walls. Rigid polyurethane foam can also be applied directly by spraying to insulate and seal roof structures, the inside and exterior walls of any dwellings. Sprayed foam must always be covered to shield the foam from UV light and inclement weather and especially installed inside of buildings. By pouring the foam reac- ‘tion mixture they can be used for cavity insulation and also in the manufacture of foam-insulated and reinforced doors. IN PLUMBING: Hot water tanks and pipes are most effectively insulated with rigid polyurethane foamMany oil stor- age tanks and pipelines are insulated with rigid polyurethane foams applied in site either by spraying or cladding with cut, profiled slabs as spacer between the pipes & cladding. This is most effective when injected into cladded chilled water pipelines and cold water lines. IN THE REFRIGRATION INDUSTRY: Polyurethane foam is nowadays used in almost all domestic refrigerator and freezers. It is also the most widely used insulation for commercial freezers, cold storage installation, refrigerated vehi- cles and container transport. IN SHIPS AND — BOATS: Punc- tured-proof buoyancy, light-weight stiff- ness and impact resistance is added , and other items such as commercial ships cold storage and fish holds, where rigid polyurethane foams fills a cavity to form a sandwich structure. URETHANE INSULATION SERVICE WHY SPECIFY RIGID URETHANE FOAM? Within the wide range of polyurethane materials manufactured today, rigid foams are second only to flexible foams in terms of tonnage and volume produced. The quantity of rigid foam produced has grown at annual rate of 10 percent- about twice the growth in flexible foam pro- duction - for many “years. In the Philippines a staggering 25 percent growth has been achieved to date compared to last year and lot of build- ing designers are shifting to rigid polyurethane, putting aside the tradi- tional but less effective insulating materials. Like flexible foams can be made in a range of densities from less than 10 kg/m3 to about 110 kg/m3 almost solid polyurethane plastics. However the major proportion of rigid polyurethane foam productions consists of lightweight foams for thermal insulation with densities from about 28kg/m3 to about 55kg/m3. Low density rigid polyurethane - tion that is made by mixing tog - nents. The foam also has a hit and it is ex- tremely adhesive during the short time, usually about 1 mi foams to most of the faci high. In fact, the strength material is almost always hi foam. This means that it is out tearing the foam itsell a excellent adhesive properties, facilitates the combinations of low density rigid polyurethane foam with other materials to make extremely cost ef- fective, multi-layer structures. A typical low density rigid polyurethane foam has a density of 30kg/m3 consists of 97 percent gas, entrapped w ithin the closed cells of the foam. This explains the unusually high insulation value of rigid polyurethane foam in comparison with insulating materials which rely upon air filled interstices to reduce the rate of heat loss. RIGID RETHANE MEANS SAVING IN SPACE, WEIGHT AND COST The Rigid urethane foam has the lowest k-factor among all commercial insulation materials. The lower the k-factor, the higher the insulating efficiency. The insu- lating efficiency of Rigid Urethane stems from its millions of very tiny fluorocar- bon-filled closed cells. This structure gives it not only low thermal efficiency, but also extremely low moisture-vapor water absorption. The unique cell structure of rigid ure- thane accounts for its high strength and low density. This lightness, combined with the fact that only about half the thickness of most insulating materials is needed for equal insulation value, means a saving in space and fewer supports. Rigid urethane is an insulating material that becomes permanent. installation since it has heat and chemical resistance, as well as resistance to rot; and since it has no food value, it does not attract fungi, termites, rodents or insects. Being odorless, it is ideal for use in food process- ing and storage plants. Rigid urethane is easy and economical to install. Its solvent resistance permits a wide choice of adhesives, and it can be cut to any shape or size with ordinary hand tools. l l l l l l l l l l l l l | permeability and a high resistance to l l l l l l l l l l l l I RIGID POLYURETHANE INSULATION PIPE COVER AND BOARDS GENERAL DESCRIPTION: MBA URETHANE manufactures rigid polyurethane foam in a wide range of densities for different applications. Versa- tile, easy-to-install polyurethane foam in- sulation for cold process pipe, equipment & vessel where constant temperature maintenance is important, temperature range is -405 degree F to 225 degree F. it has an exceptionally low k-factor (0.14 at 75 degree F mean temperature), for excel- lent insulating effectiveness. Saves han- dling and labor since many require appli- cations that requires two layers of other insulation but only one layer of rigid insu- lation. Closed cell structure results in AN unusual ratio of high strength to low den- sity. Insulation will not corrode or attract fungi, rodents, insects or vermin. Fur- nished in standard length of 3 feet, com- plete with kraft paper or aluminum foil vapor barrier jacketing. Jacketing can prevent or reduce frost build up or con- densation in joints between insulating segments and in laminated areas. Insul-Proof Renovation MBA Urethane has launched the Insul-Proof waterproofing and insulation system for remedial roofing treatment. _ ee . Xternally spray-applied, Insula-Proof is claimed to significantly reduce expansion and contraction and to eliminate internal condensation, the major causes of roof deterioration. When sprayed directly over an existing corroded metal or fragile cement roof-deck, the sandwich construction of rigid polyurethane insulation and water- proof membrane is proven to enhance structural rigidity and roof safety. Solution for roof problems. ; MBA Urethane's Insul-proof, a combined insulation and waterproofing system, al- leviates re-roofing problems. Insul-proof is externally applied to existing roofs and provides structural rigidity, superior insulation and complete waterproofing to even the most heavily corroded or fragile roof. . A fast reacting polyurethane system Is sprayed directly onto properly primed concrete, metal or AC sheet and expands to a thickness of 25mm or more ina matter in seconds to fix severe leak problems with the original waterproof mem- brane applied to the concrete ceca or roofs creating a thick, seamless blanket which insulate, waterproofs and is fully trafficable.
