OPERATION WARNING This machine should not be operated until customer's safety and production Departments have instructed operators on operating procedures and safety features Hazard: Extreme caution must be excised to be sure that the machine is free of foreign matter and all personnel are clear of the moving parts before operation. ‘Waring: 1. Improper operation of equipment may result in bodily injury or damage to the equipment, Before operating equipment, it is ‘your responsibility to completely read and understand the instructions and any related information. 2. Make sure nothing is laying on conveyor system and that everything and everyone is clear of machinery. 3. The system is designed for cutting and conveying stock from the Mill to the Pig Roll. Stock cutting results from the rotating knives engaging the mill and it is extremely important that all foreign matter be prevented from entering the system. This will ‘ensure long life and consistent production and ensure against adverse breakage of the blades. Steps should be taken to insure the use of clean uncontaminated stock BELT TENSION| Belt tensioning is achieved by carefully rotating the screws on the take-up frames, Caution should be taken to keep the pulley inline from side to side. Avoid mis- alignment for this can result in poot tracking of the belt. Only slight tension is required, over tensioning results in strain on the belt lacing and premature wear of the belt. LUBRICATION Upon receipt of Equipment, fluid levels in gear reducers and gear housing should be checked, Add fluid to gear housing and gear reducers as per referenced specifications Bearings are shipped with the grease supplied by the manufacturer. You should purge each bearing with your plants standard bearing grease. Caution should be exercised not to overfill the bearings and yet be sure that each bearing is properly purged. General-purpose industrial grease should be smooth, homogeneous and uniform premium-quality product. It should not contain materials, which are corrosive or abrasive to bearings, The grease should have excellent mechanical and chemical stability and should not emulsify with water. The grease should contain inhibitors to provide long term protection against oxidation in high performance applications and protect the bearing from corrosion in the presence of moisture ‘The lubrication concepts and guidelines in this section are, by necessity, general in nature. The final selection of a lubricant for a articular application is the responsibility of the end user: Warranty Akon Stee! On overhead mounted equipment, attachments to the customer supplied building steel or other structures must be secured using only high tensile strength fasteners. Mounting supports must be rigid and properly braced to provide a vibration resistant anti-sway solid installation, On floor mounted units, the installation must be level and the unit ‘ust be fully anchored and grouted tothe floor to prevent the potential overturning due to external forces from whatever sources. 3. Verify power supply matches drive requirements on units supplied with controls 4, Once all ofthe above instructions have been completed and the ‘motor control wiring installed, the motor(s) should be jogged to verify proper rotation. Incorrect operation of the unit can damage the belting and the unit, Be sure to review the operational ‘warnings before proceeding, with this check and the following adjustments. 5. After verification of comect motor rotation, the cutting blades should be adjusted to meet the specific cutting requirements of your stock. Proper adjustment should result in long blade life and ‘minimal stock variance. ©.
