The N215 node can be equipped with a network card, four
interface cards and two redundant PSUs (PSU=power

through the interface cards. OTN has interface cards for
data transmission, local area networks, telephony purposes
and high quality audio/video transmission.

Each interface card is described in a separate document,

the title and number of which are indicated in the documen-

All interface cards can be placed and programmed in the

HS/LS slot as well as in the LS slot. For the correct pro-

2.5 Fan Module Bound Point

In order to ventilate across the full depth of the node, the

20/50

fan module is equipped with two fans, whose dimensions

are 80 x 80 x 15 mm and which have rotation detection.

Blocking will be indicated by an alarm via both a red LED
on the front as well as via the status register. If only one fan
should work, the maximum ambient temperature allowed

decreases to 50 °C (122 °F). Refer to Figure 4 for the front

panel view of the fan module.

The fans are temperature controlled: if the temperature

inside the node is lower than 20 °C (68 °F) then the fans
are switched off, if the temperature is between 20 °C
(68 °F) and 50 °C (122 °F) the fans run at reduced speed, Figure 4 Fan Front Panel View
and above 50 °C (122 °F) the fans run at full speed.

The air inlet at the front and at the back of the N215, and
the air outlet at the back should not be blocked!
