consumers to know these rights.

are hazardous to life and property. The purchased goods and services availed of
should not only meet their immediate needs, but also fulfil long term interests.
2)Means right to be informed about the quality, quantity, potency, purity, standard
and price of goods so as to protect the consumer against unfair trade practices.
Consumer should insist on getting all the information about the product or service before
making a choice or a decision.
3) Within reason, consumers have the right to be assured that a selection of quality
products and services are available for them to purchase at competitive prices. It
means that a consumer should have the opportunity to select the goods or services that
he or she wants to purchase.
4)Right to seek redressal is defined a the right to seek compensation due to damage
caused by unfair trade practices and exploitation. The compensation awarded
depends on the degree of damage. Consumers have the right to get their claims settled
in their favor in case of being cheated and exploited by the producers.

forums. It also includes right to be represented in various forums formed to consider the
consumer's welfare.
