at IDR145.982 in 2008, higher than last year loss at IDR50.426
billion. The net loss was contributed partly by decrease in net
sales from IDR2.595 trillion to IDR1.908 trillion.

Financial Performance: The Company booked net loss at


IDR22.019 billion in 2008, or increasing from IDR15.305 billion
in 2007.
Brief History: This integrated synthetic textile manufac-
turer began commercial production in 1975. As Indonesia’s
top nylon producer, the company produces textiles and tex-
tile products, from yarn to finished garments, made from nylon
and polyester. With production at around 102 million yards
per annum, woven textile is the company’s core product and
makes up 65% of total sales. Since 1997, the company has been
supplying its own nylon yarn needs. All twisted yarn and half of
the textured yarn produced is consumed by the company’s gar-
ment division. The company currently has 300 active custom-
ers, both local and foreign. In 2000, around 70% of sales are in
US dollars. Recently the company received an “idA-“ranking
from the Indonesian Ranking Agency, indicating that the busi-
ness position and financial profile of the company are above
average compared to other companies of this type.

Financial Performance: The Company still suffered net


loss at IDR251 billion in 2008, increasing from IDR136 billion in
2007. The higher net loss was in line with other expenses which
increased from IDR68 billion to IDR246 billion.
Brief History: Established in 1971, the company manufac-
tured brocade textiles. After restructuring in 1987, the com-
pany expanded and became a garment manufacturer, producing
men’s, women’s and children’s clothing. The company owns a
factory in Jalan Raya Tambun Km. 38, Bekasi on a 2.2 Ha site
with a capacity of 600 thousand dozen per year. All production
is implemented on the basis of confirmed orders. On December
1997, the company acquired and increased the working capital
of PT Primayudha Mandirijaya and PT Kridajaya Upaya for a to-
tal transaction of Rp 379.99 billion, an equivalent to 99.9% of PT
Primayudha’s shares (Rp 66.9 billion), and Rp 170 billion worth
of PT Kridajaya Upaya’s shares. Then, an amount of Rp 133.1
billion was injected to Primayudha and Rp 10 billion to Krida-
jaya as working capital. Prior to the acquisition, the company
changed its name from Mayertex Indonesia to Hanson.

Brief History: The company was established in 1982. The
company started commercial operations on February 1, 1984.
The company are one of the biggest suppliers for garment
products for respectable companies such as Oxford Product
(International) Limited which possesses exclusive designs which
are received warmly in the global market, such as Eddie Bauer,
May Co, Belk, Tommy Hilfiger, Dillard’s, Esprit, Gap, and oth-
ers. The market orientation is 100% export to USA, Canada,
European Community, Japan, Australia, and others countries. In
1999 and early 2000, the company and its subsidiary completed
the restructuring of their loans with the creditor wherein the
bank loans have been assigned to Tio & Tan Investments Inc.
(T&T), a third party domiciled in Hong Kong.

Financial Performance: The Company recorded net loss


at IDR60.392 billion in 2008, while last year booked net income
at IDR6.019 billion. Net sales stepped down from IDR340 bil-
lion to IDR277 billion.
Brief History: The company produces men’s shirts, wom-
en’s blouses, pajamas and children’s clothing. In 1995, the com-
pany’s production capacity reached 300,000 dozen per annum
with the US and EEC as the main market. Most of the raw ma-
terials are imported. The factories are located in KBN-Tanjung
Priok, North Jakarta and Bekasi. On May 1996, the company
took over 55% shares of PT Kahoindah Citragarment, for about
Rp 12.1 billion. Other subsidiaries include PT Katexindo Cit-
ramandiri with 100% shares of the company, PT Karinwash-
indo with 100% shares, PT Karwell Kreasi Indonesia with 70%
shares and Great Malaysia Textile Manufacturing Co. Pte. Ltd
with 100% shares.

Brief History: Established in 1980 under the name PT
Panca Brothers Textile, the company began its business with
the manufacturer of ready-made knitted garments for the do-
mestic market. Then in December 1989, the company changed
its name to PT Pan Brothers Tex and entered manufacturing

Eddy Bauer, Van Heusen. It fills orders from large scale de-
partment stores around the world such as Marubeni (Poplar),
Shinko Sang Yo, and Daiei from Japan, Charming Shoppes, J.C.
Penny, Wal Mart and Woolworth from the United States, and
Debenham from England. The company’s production capacity
is 1 million dozen per year. The company has sold its land mea-
suring 140,855 m2 worth Rp. 12,490 billion. On April 1997, the
company joined a consortium comprising of Sariwarna Group,
Keris Group and one of Argo Manunggal Group’s companies.

Financial Performance: The Company suffered net loss


at IDR21.735 billion in 2008, while previous year booked net
profit at IDR10.311 billion.
Brief History: Founded in 1988 as a domestic investment
company under the name PT Bintang Kharisma, in 1994 the
company registered and floated its shares on the Jakarta Stock
Exchange and became PT Bintang Kharisma Tbk. In 1997, plan-
ning to diversify into other promising business, the company
changed its name to PT Primarindo Asia Infrastructure Tbk.
However, owing to Indonesia’s deteriorating economic and
monetary situation at that time, the company opted to post-
pone these plans for diversification.
Yet to make its name as a branded buyer, in 1989 the
company began exporting two product lines, with orders from
nonbranded buyers. The company achieved a major milestone
in 1993, with nine product lines and facilities for the produc-
tion and bonding of rubber outsoles, and for the manufacture
of EVA (sponge rubber) and phylon (compressed molded EVA)
for midsoles. In 1996, the company gained the trust from 2
main buyers: Reebok and Fila. Beginning in 1997, the company
started to implement an accurate production control system.
In that year, the company decided to modernize its production
process by using the Anzani Conveyor Stitching. In 1998, the
company developed a computerbased purchase order tracking
system called BITSCAN (Bintang Kharisma Scanning). Further
in 1999, the company started to use a Lectra Cutting System.

Financial Performance: The Company booked net loss at


IDR9.374 billion in 2008 versus IDR41.395 billion net income in
2007. The company suffered exchange rate loss at IDR21.954
billion in 2007, while previous year recorded loss at IDR2.787
billion.
Brief History: Previously named PT Ricky Putra Garmin-
do, the Company was established in 1987, but the name has
been changed into PT Ricky Putra Globalindo since 1997. The
company products are sold under the trademark of GT Man,
Ricsony and Ricky, while the brand names of its clothes, among
others, are Ricky Jeans, Ricky Primer, Ricky Junior, Della, Stolle
and Hiku. The products sold on the export market are made
on the basis of orders and the models are usually adjusted to
trends, models, and designs prevailing in the ordering coun-
tries. The export destinations of the products include Japan,
Germany, South Africa, US and the Mid East. The main raw
material used by the company is cotton tile, most of which is
supplied by PT Jabatex, an affiliated company of PT Ricky Putra
Globalindo. In addition to cotton tile, other raw materials used
for the production process are spandex and elastic rubber as
the back bounding material of man underwear.
Nonetheless, the supply of raw materials to the company
is not fully dependent on the affiliated company because similar
materials are easily found on the market. The company annual
production capacity reached 9.88 million dozens last year, of
which 1.1 million dozens were destined for export. The mar-
keting of the products has been directly handled by the compa-
ny under the auspices of five subsidiaries serving as the distribu-
tors. The subsidiary companies operate in the general trading
services and most of their shares are owned by PT Ricky Putra
Globalindo. The subsidiary companies are PT Ricky Jaya Sakti in
Surabaya, PT Jasa Rickyabadi in Medan, PT Ricky Musi Wijaya in
Palembang, PT Ricky Mumbul Daya in Semarang and PT Ricky
Jaya Arta in Bandung.

profit was due to increase in net sale to IDR539 billion from
IDR493 billion.
Brief History: The company started its operation in 1939
originally under the name of NV Nederlandsch Indische Schoen-
handel Maatschappij Bata. The company has firmly established
its position as a major domestic shoe manufacturer. The com-
pany’s products are marketed under the names of Bata, Power,
North Star, Marie Claire, Weinbrenner, Hawaianas, and Bubble
gummers, distributed via 6 distributors. The company markets
its products to 10 countries, with total exports of 326,000 pairs
of shoes. The company also has an assistance agreement within
technology, product development, administration and materials
with Bata Ltd. of Canada. During 1993, 37 new stores were
opened, making a total of 350 dealers and Bata department
stores outlets throughout Indonesia. In 1994 the company has
installed a new factory with a production capacity of 5 million
pairs of shoes. With this expansion the company total capacity
production becomes 15 million pairs of shoes per annum. In
2000, the export business represented 9% of the company total
sales value. The company achieved a 29% increase against 1999
in sales to Bata Shoe Organization companies in Europe and
Asia. 40 new stores were established by Indonesian Independ-
ent Retail Dealers and 14 were closed, bringing the total to 419
at the end of 2000. The company is a member of the Bata Shoe
Organization which its head office in Toronto, Canada.

Financial Performance: The Company still suffering a net


loss in 2008 at IDR58.280 billion or soaring versus the 2007 net
loss which reaches IDR4.597 billion. The lower net loss was
partly due to decrease in net sales from IDR132.129 billion to
IDR45.704 billion.
Brief History: The company was established with the
name of PT Surya Intrindo Makmur Tbk. The company and its
subsidiary’s business activities is to engage in footwear indus-
try. All the company’s sales are for export, mainly to America,
Europe, and Canada. The company started commercial opera-
tions in 1997. In December 1999, the company listed its shares
at Jakarta Stock Exchange and Surabaya Stock Exchange. Until
the end of 2000, the company has installed capacity of 4,000,000
pairs a year. An Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders
on June 25, 2003, approved the sale of 47.27% of the company’s
shareholding in PT Anglo Sama Pertama Motor to PT Pelangi
Jaya Raya. The Rp 26 billion raised from this sale of shares is
slated to augment working capital to strengthen the company’s
footwear business.
