Use of Controls

 Wind coming from left and front

o Stick left and neutral
 Wind coming from right and front
o Stick right and neutral
 Wind coming from left and back
o Stick right and forward
 Wind coming from right and back
o Stick left and forward
 Taxiing into wind = stick neutral
 Taxiing with a tailwind = stick forward
*remember wind direction; tip: set it on VOR
*slow down when turning into wind
*stick held back on very soft or rough surfaces (where more power is needed)
Instrument Checks

 Turn and Bank Needle

o Left turn = left
o Right turn = right
o Straight taxiing = centre
 Turn and Bank Ball
o Left turn = right
o Right turn = left
o Straight taxiing = centre
 Attitude Indicator Bar should always be steady
 Heading Indicator
o Left turn = decreasing degrees
o Right turn = increasing degrees
o Straight taxiing = steady
