type 5004 dual mode amplifier

DATA BULLETIN K11.5004 4181

An exceptionally versatile and easyto-operate instrument for

use with either high or Piczotron'" low impedance piezoelectric
transducers, Type 5004 amplifier offers distinctive operational
features, such as:
Twelve ranges, calibrated i n mechanical uniis per volt and
adjustment of the transducer sensitivity
Wide frequency response which can be tailored by a
broad range of low pass bandwidth and notch plug-in
filters
* Unique scale indicator simplifies operation and prevents
improper setting
* Front panel zero adjustment with LEDs indicates any
zero imbalance
LEDs display overload conditiori of amplifier and proper
operation in Piezotron mode
Remote control of Reset-Operate function

OPERATION
Extreme ease of operation characterizes the 5004 which re-
quires no mathematical manipulations.
Simply set the sequence 01 numbers corresponding to the
transducer sensitivity an the 10-turn potentiometer ( 5 ) In DC/MU
or mVlMU (mechanical units e.g.: psi, g, Ib, etc.).
Following this, set the Transducer Sensitivity selector (2)to
the appropriate range.
Then, select the appropriate scale (3)from one of the 12
calibrated positions.
The selected charge amplifier scale in MUIV is displayed in
the window @).
Recording and display equipment connected to the voltage
output should be set for 1Vldiv. The selected amplifier scale
then becomes the display or recorder scale in MUldiv.

DESCRIPTION
Type 5004 Dual Amplifier in the charge mode contains an input
amplifier stage (A) having high input Impedance, high open FOR QUASISTATIC MEASURING, TOO
