1. What is the reason for the strict implementation of censorship in China?

There are various reasons for the strict implementation of censorship in China. One of those is
maintaining control over the general public, as censorship is defined as the official prohibition or
restriction of any expression believed to threaten the political, social, or moral order. Chinese
government censors content mainly for political reasons, and it also implements it to show us
just how systematically the communist party works. Censorship efforts are mostly concentrated
on Chinese content than others. Moreover, they relate censorship to preventing objectionable
content from being relayed to the public.

2. If you were Google, will you give in to what is acceptable in China and continue to
operate in the country, or pull-out operations to uphold your own ethical standards?

If I were Google, I will not give in to what is acceptable in China and proceed to operate in the
country but rather pull-out operations to uphold my ethical standards. This is because ethical
standards were an essential part of an organization's culture and are classified as the principle
intended to generate trust, goodwill, and respect from others. I should, however, think of giving
up my one-third share of 340 million Chinese web users or, rather, risk the processes, which are
over 40,000 search queries every second. Lastly, ethics is crucial not just for the business but for
each individual’s personality also. It is essential to stand by my principles and morals rather than
being dazzled by money. I can be more proud from my success, knowing my ethical standards
and moral values remained within me despite the challenges I had come to face.
