Matthew 10:29-31 New Century Version

Two sparrows cost only a penny, but not even one of them can die without your Father
knowing it. God even knows how many hairs are on your head. So don’t be afraid. You are
worth much more than many sparrows.
God is our creator not from a general point of view but personal and specific:

• Psalmist say “God knitted us in our mothers’ wombs”

• Jeremiah reminds us “God knew us before we were even born”
• The prophet Isiah tells us “God call us by name”
Finally, Jesus tells us “God even knows the number of hairs on our head.”

“What do you think is the best story ever told to humankind?”

We all love a good story……. Poetry, Prophesy, Narrative, Falk tale

God loves a good story too. 2/3 of the bible is narrative ……. Quick quiz what are the first 3
word in the bible?
Explain how God is still using stories to bring manifest of his kingdom
Matthew 1:1-16 English Standard Version
I know what is going through your mind. Genesis you are doing well so far……
To be honest the best story ever told to humankind is the story of our lord Jesus Christ…
When you look at each of this name each name has a story and what the writer of this book
wants you to do is know each of this story
However, I find the stories of these character to be quite strange especially they are part of
Jesus’ genealogy.

• Tamar gave birth to twins whose names are Matthew 1:3 Perez and Zerah
• In verse 6 we find Bathsheba how she met David while she was married
• Jacob spent the first half of his life lying, cheating and stealing from his family
• Perhaps we can talk about lesser-known characters like Rehoboam ………… Abijah
When we know these characters before we even read the story of Jesus the writer is trying to
bring out one thing. “Not only does God reveal himself through stories but broken messed up
stories.”
HAND CRAFTED
Show how the redemption story is equally a dark story but God brought light through it.
My question for you tonight is what is your story? What is the story God is telling through your
life? Perhaps your story is as broken and messed up as the family tree of Jesus and you believe
there is no glory in your story………………………………………
Share the darkest moment in my life………………...
Perhaps you are still in the darkest chapter of your story………
“The greatest stories always have the greatest conflict, but why is that every time we encounter
conflict in our lives, we see God as unfair and not the greatest storyteller?”
Perhaps you have a boring story………… Mary
God always share his glory through human stories……………
