MANDATE
The Local Government Service Commission is established under Article 228 (1) of the Constitution of Zambia (Amendment) Act No 2 of 2016.
The Commission, in accordance with Section 16 (1) of the Service Commissions Act No. 10 of 2016 is mandated with the responsibility of
overseeing all human resource matters in all Local Authorities in so far as they relate to recruitments, appointments, confirmations, promotions,
transfers, separations, discipline, appeals, training, setting of professional standards within 116 Local Authorities and over and above devising
