Culture Documents
The graphic tee unites people regardless of their age, means of subsistence, or
cultural background, as this remark emphasizes. We know you have a whole
closet full of them. However, we reassure you that we did not enter your home
while you were asleep. That's why we're saying it: so are mine! T-shirts with
holes, ones that appear to date back to the French Revolution, ones that make us
think of our loved ones... To put it briefly, we simply cannot get enough t-shirts.
Every designer wants their outfits to be the must-have items for their clients. Not
to go ahead of ourselves, but it's likely also yours. But before your graphic t-shirts
achieve the success you envision, your images must adhere to specific graphic
design principles. If not, blunders will be made that will turn away customers...
similar to the nine errors we'll cover in this essay.
moving forward!
Mistake #1: Placing the design in the middle of the t-
shirt
You desire symmetry in your artwork, right? Bravo, it is a wonderful graphic
design reaction. You'll need to lose that reflex when it comes to where your
graphics are placed on t-shirts.
Contrary to what we might initially believe, the width and height of a T-shirt are
not the primary considerations when placing graphics. What is the outcome of
this kind of placement? an imprint at the belly. It won't be optimal unless your
image expresses this literally: "This is where I digest." Therefore, we suggest that
you design a print that is ten centimeters or so below the collar and adjust it to
the size (for a child's t-shirt, for example) and cut (regular, crop top, tank top, etc.)
of the garment the product.
Mistake #2: Neglecting the balance of the composition
Your designs are compositions: deft arrangements of components (text, graphics,
logo, etc.) that interact well with one another. Congratulations, you virtuoso that
you are, if they are compositions and you are a composer. On the other hand, a
little visual work is required in the respect of some fundamental rules if you wish
to be Ludwig van Beethoven rather than Lou Bega:
Leave enough space between the elements so that the visual is readable... ;
... Without spacing them too far apart either, at the risk of the whole thing
being disjointed;
Place the elements in the reading order (it seems obvious, but sometimes
you feel so much in the creation that you can forget the basics very
quickly).
It might be challenging to step back from your illustrations, so if you have a friend,
family member, Aunt Helen, or even Chad nearby, don't be afraid to ask for a
second opinion.
Mistake #3: Not mastering your choice of fonts
Text is not the first thing that springs to mind when you think of a graphic t-shirt.
However, a crucial component of graphic design is typography. To understand
this, all you need to do is consider the outrageous success of message t-shirts!
They have taken over; there has been an invasion.
A quick and simple method to give your t-shirt design meaning is to include a
message in it. However, you still need to get the hang of typography. Because
there are some regulations to follow:
Managing the spacing of the font, both between letters and between lines;
If there are sentences in capital letters, choose a font that works well in this
form (calligraphic fonts are often not suitable);
On a single design, combine a maximum of two complementary fonts ( Sans
serif and serif fonts for example);
Do not use Comic Sans MS ;
No, really, do not use Comic Sans MS. This is important.
We are aware that having to deal with so many graphic design concepts might be
frustrating. They're all there to make sure you get the most out of it, so trust us,
it's not a terrible thing!
Mistake #4: Thinking (too) big
A philosopher once stated, "The more you spray, the more you get. We no longer
know, unless it's an advertisement with a questionable message. This quote does
not, in any circumstances, relate to t-shirt design.
Your beautiful graphics are designed to be viewed, but not from across the ocean.
Therefore, especially when it comes to child size t-shirts, we suggest you to be
moderate in the size of your design and to stay a little under the maximum
allowed by our customizer.
To maintain the balance of the whole and to increase the comfort of the garment,
avoid printing too large. Yes, let's not forget that printing gives the t-shirt an extra
layer! soft and thin to the touch, certainly, but still a layer that will be felt more
keenly if the underlying product is light.
Mistake #5: Using unlimited color palettes
Working with limited color palettes is necessary, let's face it. We are quite
delighted to provide you with this option because our printing technology, DTG,
enables the printing of an amazing rainbow of colors. But just because something
is possible doesn't mean you HAVE to. Just recall the time you were a child and
attempted to eat dog food. It was awful. a graphic with more than four different
colors.
You can use a variety of resources to find THE winning combination for your next
graphic star. This one, for instance, enables you to meet the color of your choice's
soulmate.
