1. Read this booklet carefully
2. All your questions and clarifications should be addressed to the assessor only.
3. Complete the task/project described in this booklet
4. You are given fifteen (15) minutes reading time and Four (4:00) total hours given
under to accomplish the whole projects
5. After you finish this assessment, you are not allowed to copy anything from this booklet
or tear any page
6. You are allowed to use your own calculator and this must be presented to the assessor
before start of the test
7. After you finish the assessment, you should pack field equipments and return to store.

 Given the necessary equipments, tools, materials, supplies and information the candidate is
expected to perform the following three projects.
Assessment place: Well equipped computer Lab
Total time allotted: 3:00 hours and 30 min

Project 1: Gathering data on business requirement and select best-fit topology

Total time 45 min

Our company wants to give to provide training about hardware and networking, however we have
insufficient materials to start the training, so we need a technical assistant you can help our
company on selecting all necessary materials required for the hardware and networking training
with including best fit topology of the material in best and reliable cost to give full training . This
project should be required to evaluate the candidates on how to select Business requirement with
its network topology.

This project should be required to evaluate the candidates on how to install operating system with
its roles with important features.

Task: 1 Configure administer server

1.1. Install window server 2003 with partition of C:\ (local disk) 60% and D:\ 40%
1.2. Install window XP/7 on the client side
1.3. Crimp a Straight through Connection.
1.4. Install Active Directory with the domain name “Axum.Tigray”
1.5. Install server roles DNS, DHCP File and printer server
1.6. Configure IP address
1.7. Check the connection between the server and client
Task: 2 Network security and remote help desk top

2.1 create organizational unit “Engle”

2.2 create groups members at server two group names ICT and COMPUTER
2.3 Create users and passwords for two groups, ICT group users (Yonas and Mahlet)
password (Pass1, Pass2) respectively, for COMPUTER Group user (Senait and Nardos)
Password (Pass123, Pass1234) respectively.
2.4 Create user Privilege to change their password at First Login for Nardos and Yonas
never change Senait and mahlet.
2.5 Set Access limitation time for COMPUTER User to access from Monday to Friday 8:00
AM to 10:00 PM.
2.6 join the Client Computer to server log by Senait.
2.7 Remotely Access to the server.
2.8 Set printer Permission for Yonas full control and Mahlet print only 20 pages.
2.9 Turn on windows firewall for the server
