Cautions and Warnings

This controller is an Electro-statically sensitive device. Proper ESD protection (ground
strap) should be used when installing this product so that damage to the product does not
occur.
Equipment damage or loss of data may occur if these procedures are not followed as
specified.
Installations requiring CE conformance: All wiring for CE rated products must use an
extra low voltage (SELV) or protective extra low voltage (PELV) transformer. Use
safety-isolating transformers, (Class II transformer) per EN61558. The transformer must be
rated for 100% duty cycle.

Mounting and Dimensions

The eZNS backplate is designed for mounting directly on most standard electrical boxes. Dimensions vary
depending on the backplate option ordered as noted in the chart below.

Dimensions

A 133 5.24
B 93 3.26
C 23 0.91

Mounting

1a) Attach backplate to electrical box or wall using appropriate

screws for electrical box or mounting surface.
1b) Terminate wiring

2) Align top of eZNS to top

of mounting plate,
approaching at a 45deg
angle

3a) Using backplate as a

guide swing, hook top of the
eZNS to the top of the
backplate.
3b) Swing down bottom of
the eZNS and push bottom
to clip onto backplate.

4) Optionally back off the security set screw counterclockwise to

engage the lock.

The button overlays have a clear protective film that can be removed when ready to turn over
to the customer. Peel off from a top corner, taking care to pull down rather than out, to prevent
pulling off the button overlay.

CO2 Sensor
Rev 4.2 eZNS-T100 CO2 models mount flush on the wall, not requiring an electrical box or hole in the wall
to mount. Rev 4.2 eZNS-T100Cxx's use the same CO2 sensor and unique matching backplate used with
Rev 3.3 models.. Replacing an existing rev 1.x CO2 eZNS-T100Cxx or any non-CO2 eZNS-T100 with a
rev 3.3/4.2 eZNS-T100Cxx model requires the backplate to be changed as well.

The CO2 option includes a CO2 daughter board that is plugged into the back of eZNS-T100Cxx models.
While this facilitates field replacement of the CO2 module, non-CO2 eZNS are not field upgradeable to
later add the CO2 option.

While care should be taken to ensure the CO2 sensor is not dropped or exposed to mechanical stress
which could lead to measurement errors, rev 3.3/4.2 hardware includes calibration routines that can be
used to compensate for these errors. See the rev 3.3/4.2 eZNS application guide for more details.

NFC Antenna Breakaway

Rev 4.x features a PCB breakaway tab that will permanently disable NFC capability.

Breaking the NFC tab should be performed after a sensor configuration is completed. Note that
non-display eZNS model addressing is solely configured via NFC (no display), therefor disabling NFC on
an eZNS-T100xxx-ND will no longer allow the LINKnet address to be changed.

1. Using a pair of needle nose pliers or two small screwdrivers, insert the tips into the two holes
within the NFC antenna
2. Rotate the pliers handle down, pushing the pliers tips upward to break the PCB tab at the
perforated hole locations

eZNS Device Addressing and Baud Rate

Valid eZNS addresses are from 1 to 12. eZNS products are factory configured with a LINKnet address of
1 and communication speed of 76.8k baud.

The eZNS with a LCD display has its address and communication baud rate changed through its LCD and
keypad interface or via NFC using the NetBuilder mobile app. For detailed instructions on how to change
these settings, refer to the Application Guide,

The eZNS without a LCD display is addressed and baud rate configured via NFC using the NetBuilder
mobile app.

General Wiring
All wiring must conform to NEC and local codes and regulations. Use earth ground isolating step-down
Class 2 transformers. Do not use autotransformers. Determine supply transformer rating by summing total
VA of product and output loads.

CAUTION Risk of electric shock or fire. More than one disconnect switch may be required to
de-energize the equipment before servicing.
ATTENTION Risque d'électrocution. Plus d'un interrupteur général peut être requis pour mettre
l'équipement hors tension avant de procéder à son entretien.

CAUTION To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not interconnect the outputs of different
Class 2 circuits.
ATTENTION Pour réduire le risque d’incendie ou de choc électrique, n’interconnectez pas les sorties des
différents circuits de Classe 2.
All terminals are acceptable for Class 2 circuit connections only.
Use copper conductors only.

General Delta Device Power Wiring Guideline

Delta Controls devices use a 24 VAC, Class 2 power supply. The proper specified cabling must be used.
(18 – 16 AWG, 2-conductor wire)

A single transformer may be used to power multiple controllers and/or auxiliary field devices (actuators,
etc) provided the following conditions are met:

• All devices connected to a single transformer MUST be half wave rectified. Mixing power between
half wave and full wave rectified devices will damage both the transformer and connected
equipment. If present, see below for a list of full and half wave devices.

• The transformer is properly sized, including line losses for the total VA requirements.

• Polarity is observed between controllers (with respect to 24~ and Gnd).

• Each controller is grounded as shown in the diagram below. This is important to protect equipment
and ensure a common ground reference for RS-485 communication.

• The transformer secondary is fused for its maximum rated load (4A max for Class 2 circuits).

CAUTION Make sure to ground the controller using the ground lug that is available on the controller.
The controller uses the ground lug to establish a common reference for communications. If the controller
is not grounded then communication problems may occur.

Note: eZNS Devices must be grounded to a common control panel ground to ensure proper
functionality of the capacitive touch screen.

General Delta Network Wiring Guidelines for MS/TP and

LINKnet
The controller communicates on an RS-485 LAN using the BACnet MS/TP protocol. Refer to Delta
Controls Wiring and Installation Guidelines for further details.

MS/TP (RS-485) Wiring

See Delta Controls Wiring and Installation Guidelines for detailed information on MS/TP and LINKnet
wiring.

• The proper specified cabling must be used to ensure reliable communications. (22−24 AWG
twisted pair, 100−120 ohms impedance, 17 pF/ft or lower capacitance, with a braided or aluminum
foil shield.)
• Controllers must be wired together in a daisy-chain fashion. Attempting to connect them using a
starred or bus configuration causes problems on the network.
• Networks with a total length greater than 1200 m (4000 ft) or with more than 64 controllers require
a DZNR-768 repeater.
• LINKnet networks that have only 1−2 controllers and have less than 30.5 m (100 ft) of cable length
do not require network terminators (TRM-768).

MS/TP Network Wiring Showing Proper Termination using TRM-768s

The eZNS is a LINKnet only device and does not support MS/TP.

External Input Configuration

The external input terminal is labeled IP6 (previously IP1) and shares the power GND terminal. To
connect an external input to the eZNS, follow standard Delta Control wiring guidelines. Refer to separate
documentation for additional details (Delta Wiring Guidelines).

Input Configuration
The external input is an additional 10kΩ compatible input, independent of the internal temperature sensor.
This input is suitable for 10KΩ Thermistor temperature sensors, as well as Dry Contact binary inputs.

Cleaning
Follow these general guidelines when cleaning the eZNS

• Do not spray liquids directly on the eZNS

• Use a soft clean cloth dampened with warm water to wipe down the eZNS

To disinfect the eZNS, we have tested with the following cleaners:

• Isopropyl alcohol (70%), applied to a soft cloth and wiped on

• 10% Bleach solution applied to soft cloth and wiped on
• Lysol wipes
• Caviwipes medical wipes

Note: While wiping the front of the eZNS, due to the capacitive touch sensor, multiple buttons may be
detected and cause undesired actions. If the eZNS is subject to wipedowns, It is recommended to
program a lockout mode to ignore button presses for x minutes.
