Explain the Advantages & Disadvantage of the use of Electronic Health Record or Electronic
Medical Record in a health care facility, ( Have at least one supporting short article in EBSCO
or Science Direct found in our OFLU e-library, known as LRC.) 100 -150 words

 EHRs are defined as "a longitudinal electronic record of patient health

information that is generated by one or more encounters in any care
delivery setting." Included in this information are the patient demographics,
progress notes, problems, medications, vital signs, past medical history,
immunizations, laboratory data, and radiology reports. Some of the
advantages of the EHR include being able to easily access computerized
records and eliminating poor handwriting. It also improves the quality of
care because of the improvement when it comes to the accuracy of
documentation, making diagnosis and claims submission easier and
quicker. It also reduces medical errors because computerized records are
easy to read and there’s much less risk of misinterpretation or errors in
critical areas such as diagnosis and medical orders that can lead to serious
health consequences for the patient. Some of its disadvantages are the
financial issues since it is costly to set up and switch over to a whole new
medical records system, which is even at competitive prices, and it is also
increasing in the marketplace as more and more have been using EHR. It is
also a privacy security concern since computerized systems are vulnerable
to attacks by hackers, and EHR systems are unprotected.

2. Explain your own opinion as to whether you are in favor or not of implementation of HER
in the Philippines. ( You may also support your answers based from any related article in
EBSCO or Science Direct found in out OLFU e-library, known as LRC). 100- 150 words.

 In my own opinion, I am in favor of implementing EHR in the Philippines so

that we can improve the quality of care of our patients and keep track of
their care, including their medical and treatment histories, so that we can
also have a broader view of our patients' overall health and wellness. We
could also easily access computerized records and help eliminate poor
handwriting, which is in contrast to the traditional bad handwriting of
physicians, which they are known for, and it also helps when it comes to
societal outcomes. It enables them to conduct better research and  helps
them achieve an improvement in population health. Even though it's costly,
it helps us when it comes to the improvement of the health of our patients.
