1. Explain the Advantages & Disadvantage of the use of Electronic Health Record or
Electronic Medical Record in a health care facility, ( Have at least one supporting
short article in EBSCO or Science Direct found in our OFLU e-library,  known as
LRC.) 100 -150 words

 Electronic health record or electronic medical record in a health care facility is

defined as a longitudinal record of patient health information created by one or
more interactions in any care delivery context. These details include the patient's
demographics, notes on their progress, issues, prescriptions, vital signs, previous
medical history, vaccines, laboratory results, and radiological reports. One of the
benefits of electronic medical record is that it can give improvements in the
quality of care, improvements in patient-level measures that includes proper care
and can reduce medical errors. It can also provide accurate, up to date and
complete information for those patient who require congruent care. One of the
disadvantages of using electronic health records is that it can lead to difficulties
with finances, workflow modifications, temporary productivity losses brought on
by the use of EHRs, privacy and security problems, as well as other unintended
consequences.

2. Explain your own opinion as to whether you are in favor or not of implementation
of EHR in the Philippines. ( You may also support your  answers based from any
related article in EBSCO or Science Direct  found in out OLFU e-library, known as
LRC). 100- 150 words.

 I disagree with the implementation of electronic medical records in the

Philippines because, according to articles, sometimes EHR does not meet the
standard needs structure of proper workflow of every medical practitioner to
provide patient care in a timely manner. According to the survey, 14,000 nurses
(69 %) are dissatisfied with EHR because it is time consuming and takes time
away from their patients. Many issues will arise if EHR is implemented, such as
software compatibility issues, in which the EHR system is unable to connect to
an existing medical practice management system and people-related issues,
such as instances where certain doctors or employees refuse to use the EHR
system or forego training. EHR can also have potential privacy and security
issues and can violate patients privacy because every computer network these
days is vulnerable to hacking, which means sensitive patient data could fall into
the wrong hands.
