 a literary form in literary genre written in magical rhymes.


 It arose and flourished throughout the period 750 - 1500.

Rhymed Prose or "Saj" is the most striking characteristic feature of Arabic prose.

Consist of succesion of pairs of short rhyming expression.

Formal Written in Rhymed Prose Style or "Khutbah" is of great antiquity. Turned out to be religious
verses in the earliest time of Islam.

Tanukhi- most outstanding compiler of anecdotes

 Niswar al-muhadarah (The table of Mesopotamian judge)


 Mustajad (Anecdotes of generosity)
 Farah ba’d al shiddah (Deliverance after anguish)

These kind of works led to a new literary form Maqama.
