Brief Outline of Proposed Process

1. 500mm dia pipeline picks up sewage from incoming rising main from the village. Rising
main is from a pump and it is assumed partial screening will have happened at the
Pumpstation before the treatment works.
2. Before reaching screen chamber the sewer line collects sewage from the tanker
discharge bay
3. Two screen channels are provided, I for mechanical screens, another for manual
screens
4. For each channel a medium screen (25mm) and a fine screen 10mm) is provided
5. Screen collection and compaction system will be provided for each set of mechanical
screens
6. After fine screens the channel merge before feeding 2 vortex degritters with grit
extraction systems
7. Vortex degritters can be used independently, 1 duty, 1 standby arrangement.
8. Flow Measurement is done by an ultrasonic meter by the flume just after the vortex
degritter.

9. Skimming tank is the last unit after the flume, with a scraper to remove scum into a
collection box.
