Lesson Philosophical Reflection

1 DOING A PHILOSOPHY
“Human reason has the peculiar fate in one species of its cognitions that is burdened with
questions which cannot dismiss, since they are given to it as problems by the nature of reason itself,
but which it also cannot answer, since they are transcend every capacity of human reason.”
-Immanuel Kant-

What’s In

One of the key elements in many educational reforms is diversity, difference, and choice or
other proposals that establish separate curricular routes for different group of individuals.
Diversity is the difference that makes each person unique (i.e., biology, ethnicity and
culture, family life, beliefs, geography, experiences and religion).

Sometimes, we have difficulty in accepting others because they are different from us. Yet,
such behaviour can limit a person’s opportunities or can make the person feel excluded or
aggrieved. Educational challenge in the 21 st century entails how to deal appropriately with
cultural and racial multiplicity and
that one does not engage in harrassmetn of any form (Kurcinka 2006)
What is It

Reflection is a consideration of some matter, idea or purpose. It is a thought, idea or opinion formed
from a remark made as a result of meditation.

Human Self Reflection- is the capacity of humans to exercise introspection and the willingness to
learn more about their fundamental nature, purpsose and essence.

There are two types of reflection:

1. Primary Reflection: It refers to the process directed at deriving clear concepts about reality.
This are objective point of view, the various elements of things like color, shape or function.

2. Secondary Reflection-It is the realization of the unity of the situation and the individual
which provide us with a holistic view of reality.
