Reference: Request for cancellation and/or exoneration of Traffic Violation Ticket

No. M431468

I am Jorge Eliécer Ortegón Sáenz (Colombian ID card No. 7.173.068, Passport No.
AP463804). I am currently in the United States of America with a valid visa which expires
on October 24th 2022. I’m writing in order to request that you cancel Traffic Violation Ticket
No. M431468, taking into account the following information:

1. I entered the United States on April 25th, 2022 as a tourist to spend my vacation in
this great country for a period of 40 days.
2. On May 7th, 2022, at 6:58 pm, I was driving a vehicle lent to me by a friend in San
Antonio, Texas on 2322 W Gerald Ave.
3. At that time, I was pulled over by a Police Officer. I immediately pulled over and
engaged with the Police Officer who asked me for my documents. I supplied him
with my Colombian driving license and passport.
4. The Police Officer told me that my driving license had expired in 2020 and that he
would issue me with a ticket. I did not say anything because I am a very respectful
of authority and gave total credibility to what the Police Officer informed me.
5. However, once I arrived at my destination I checked my driver's license and verified
that its expiration date is in 2026 and the date of issue was 2020.

I believe the confusion arose due to similarities in Spanish between the words “expedición”
(to issue) and “expiración” (to expire). This mistake is entirely understandable, however,
due to this error the traffic violation was also issued in error.

For purposes of proving the above information, please see attached the following
documents:

1. Scanned copy of my Colombian passport with entry stamp to the US and length of stay.
2. Scanned copy of my driving license with an issue date of the year 2020 (front) and
expiration date of the year 2026 (back) for category B1 that includes a car.
3. Scanned copy of Ticket No. M431468.

I politely request that the traffic violation be canceled or exonerated and that any
information pertaining to the traffic violation be removed or amended on the digital
platforms or physical files.
I appreciate your prompt attention to my request and look forward to hearing from you
soon.
For the purposes of being notified of any action or response to my request, may I ask that
you send any correspondence my email address: saenzestradaabogados@gmail.com,
since from May 8, 2022, I am in San Jose, California continuing my vacation.

Kind regards,

Jorge Eliécer Ortegón Sáenz
