1 Introduction
1.1 Overview
1.1.1 Handheld Monitoring System
The Handheld Monitoring System consists of the following components:
• Paging transmitter that converts Ethernet data messages,
generated by the server computer, into the POCSAG paging
format, and transmits this radio signal to the handheld units.
• Handheld monitors

1.2.1 Pager Frequencies
Pager frequencies must be in one of the following bands:
• VHF: 148 – 155 MHz
• VHF: 155 – 160 MHz
• VHF: 160 – 165 MHz
• VHF: 165 – 170 MHz
• VHF: 170 – 174 MHz
• UHF: 440 – 450MHz
• UHF: 450 – 470MHz
It is the client’s responsibility to apply for frequency/s with the appropriate local
authority.
2 Handheld Monitors
2.1 Description
The wireless handheld unit may be used for docking, load monitoring and
environmental monitoring applications.

4 Associated Components
The following components are also supplied.
4.1 Antenna
An appropriate antenna/s will be supplied, pre-tuned to the required
frequency/s.
The antenna/s are supplied with mounting brackets for attachment to a 50mm
steel mast and which are typically mounted on the roof above the Trelleborg
equipment rack, with a direct line of sight to the handheld monitor or COB unit.
