Questline:
Hey, great to see you again!
I couldn’t wait to congratulate you. Special Correspondent William Bierce, sounds
awesome!
Yeah… I, too, was happy at first when the editor of Brick News offered the job.
But it turned out he just needed a famous person in the state for credibility.
So all my duties are to smile and wave in the photos.
And I thought I could do something really important and useful.
Looks like the only thing left for me is to pointlessly send smoke into the sky…
Yeah, the new job only made him more upset.
But why did the editor act like this? I need to talk to him.
Hello! Can I speak to the newspaper editor?
You are speaking to him. Charles Wells, nice to meet you! How can I help?
I’m concerned about the position of your new employee and my friend, William Bierce.
He seems to be quite ready for fieldwork.
Good gracious, is it fair to exhaust a famous writer with work like this?
A couple of stories a week is not exhausting, Mr Wells. Give him a chance.
He went through the war. Do you really think doing an interview can scare him?
William, we were just talking about you! Hmm…
In a couple of hours, the grand opening of the new city bank will take place.
I’ll be waiting for a story from you about this event in tomorrow’s issue!

Any choice is correct

Ladies and Gentlemen! Today we are opening a new page in the history of money
safekeeping!
But this is…
From now on, all our and your money are safely protected in the bank of Mr Hastings!
… Mr Thompson! The mayor of Summerfield!
And I, the assistant mayor of Bricktown, guarantee you this!

So you quickly changed your position, didn’t you, Mr Thompson?

Were you ashamed of your connections with bandits at your previous job?
What are you talking about?
He was mayor of Summerfield and collaborated with the bandits, even though he
denied it.
Oh really? Let’s see if he’s involved in some dirty dealings here, too.
Hello. Is this mail for Mr Hastings? I’ll pass it on, thanks.
But I was told to give this to him in person.
Mr Hastings is a busy man, he has no time for chasing postmen! Give it to me.

Show me… Hmm, Thompson is asking for the bank’s floor plan and info about the
security.
Weird. How does he have the right to look into such documents?
William, maybe it’s time to talk to the editor?
No, he thinks it’s dangerous to speak out against those in power without direct
evidence.
I don’t care. If this Thompson is up to a crime, I’m gonna stop him.
But this isn’t war, William.
And I declare war on corrupt officials!

I’ve got an idea…

I have a feeling it won’t end well.
Do you hear the neigh? They say Thompson is a big fan of horse racing and keeps a
whole stable.
I’m sure if something happens to the precious horses, he’ll come running here.
He won’t even pay attention to his house, even if its door is wide open.
Are you suggesting I hurt the horses? Never in my life!
No, just kindle a small fire in a couple of haystacks and pretend there’s a huge one.
No one will touch the horses, of course.
In the meantime, I’ll sneak into the mansion.
