Petron Corporation:

One of the most well-known oil refinery suppliers in the Philippines is the Petron
Corporation which produces gasoline and diesel. Its refinery is said to have a capacity of
268,000 barrels per day and produces almost 30% of the country’s oil requirement. Moreover,
its two principal shareholders that hold 40% of the company are the Philippines government’s
Philippine National Oil Company and Saudi Aramco, based Saudi Arabia. Continuous Flow
Product was employed by this company as their manufacturing system which continuously
produces the same type of products over the years within a span of 24/7 hours. Knowing that
their products undergo chemical reactions or treatment, the production processes are required
to produce large amounts of inventory consistently. These are also characterized by equipment
dedicated to specific tasks, automated material handling, use of specialized machinery and
tools. Fractional distillation is one of the chemical processes used by the Petron in making
gasoline from crude oil. These are then used to run most internal combustion engine cars. Since
transportation has a significant role in our daily lives, gasoline and diesel are widely used.

Taiwan OEM Parts and Machining Service:

Ever since 2005, Yuan Jing founded the Taiwan OEM Parts and Machining Service
which is located in the central Taiwan. It offers a high quality precision of metal products for a
wide variety of industries including hydraulics, all types of machining machines, automotive
parts, electrical tools, pneumatic tools and molded products. Aside from that, the computer-
controlled equipment in their factory ensures to be of high quality products at competitive prices.
They could also offer services such as turning, milling, grinding, gear cutting, polishing, laser
cutting, and welding, plating and black oxide. This is one of the companies which uses the
intermittent/non-continuous production system. Whereas, intermittent production system deals
with job shop and project production that could only be produced in a small amount. Each item
has their distinct processing route and could only be produced based on their own specific
requirements. The mentioned company could do separated services at the same time due to the
large number of employees. They are also not that reliable with the use of machineries.
