Definition of Content
Content is defined as
Information to be learned in school, another term
for knowledge (a collection of facts, concepts,
generalization & principles theories)
 Content Selection
• The subject matter or content is significant if it
is selected and organized for the development of
learning activities, skills, processes and attitude.
• Development of three learning domains:
1. Cognitive,
2. Affective and
3. Psychomotor skills, and
considers the cultural aspects of the learners
 Curriculum Content
• Content must take account of the environment in which
the course will be used, the needs of the learners, and
principles of teaching and learning.
 Purpose of Content
• To help organize materials
• To help a sequential relationship of material
• To present material basic to a general understanding
of a course.
• To furnish a source of valuable information.
