Dates for your Diary: October & November 2022
Thursday 6th October – Parish Action Group – Social Team meeting 7 pm St Wulstan’s Community Centre
First meeting of the social team to review and act on social activities to bring the parishes together in a
friendly and enjoyable way. All are welcome and any ideas are worthy for discussion. We will review the
multi-cultural event from July and the Afternoon Tea from September and move to have 3 new social
activities earmarked for the diary.
Sunday 9th October - North Staffs APC Visit to Our Lady of Lourdes, Hednesford
A coach has been booked for ‘Our Lady of Lourdes’ Hednesford for the visit of the relics of St. Bernadette.
As yet no details of times etc from the Archdiocese. However, we have provisionally arranged pick-up
points at Meir & Newcastle
Saturday 15th October – St John’s Autumn Fayre 1 – 4 pm in the Parish Hall (Tony 07968130239)
Our annual fund raiser is back after a hiatus due to the pandemic. Admission is FREE! There will be spot
raffle prizes, a main raffle, stalls from both parishes and some local schools. If you can help out on the day,
please let Tony know. Raffle prizes gratefully received.
Sunday 16th October – CAFOD “Fix the Food System” after 9.15 Mass in St John’s Parish Hall
All parishioners welcome to join in the presentation and discussion on how we can do our bit to help fix
the food system from practical ideas at home to supporting wider campaigns. Duration is around 1 hour.
To encourage your attendance there will be a free bacon butty and hot drink for each person!
Saturday 12th November - International Meal St Wulstan’s Community Centre. (John 07950989328)
An evening of culinary delights as we bring out own favourite “international” meals to share among good
company, conversation, quizzing and music. Tickets available from CAFOD group.
