1.

How do you describe Rizal as a son, brother, student, friend, and a member of a political
community.
- Jose Rizal is an amazing individual who possesses great talent and a burning desire to
pursue his goals. Rizal is a really endearing son. We all know that Rizal's mother had
an eye condition, so he decided to study and become an expert in ophthalmology
while he was gone to assist her. He wanted to make his mother's eyes better. At that
time in his life, we can tell how much he loved his parents. Rizal is a brother who
obeys. He did not think twice when his brother Paciano requested that he be sent
abroad. He immediately departs the Philippines after doing what his brother
commands, putting his desires, love life, and family on wait. Almost everyone Rizal
met while being transferred to Dapitan became his friend, and he used his skills and
knowledge to help people in their daily lives. Lastly, Rizal belongs to the political class.
I think Rizal is a brave and courageous man. He fought until the end for what he
thought was right. He pursued his writing to open people's eyes, even at the risk of his
own life, for the sake of everyone, for the sake of freedom, and for the sake of justice.

2. What are the important factors that affect or influence Rizal’s life? Explain.
- I think his family is the first and most significant aspect of Rizal's existence. Teodora
Alonso, Rizal's mother, had the biggest impact on his development as a person. She
was the one who first opened Rizal's eyes and heart to the outside world. His early
years also benefited greatly from the influence of his three uncles. His uncle Jose, the
youngest sibling of his mother, is a teacher who gives Rizal extra attention outside of
their regular sessions. On the other side, it was his uncle Manuel who shaped him to
enhance his physical appearance. Gregorio, Rizal's uncle, taught him that achieving
something required effort and was not something that could be done easily. Rizal's
younger brother Paciano had a profound impact on him. He also backed the
Katipunan, eventually rising to the rank of commander in the Revolution Army after
being informed of the injustices carried out by friars in the Philippines. Another factor
that affected Rizal's life was education. When he encountered education, he was able
to see everything, including the reality that most Filipinos were blind to. His education
has a bearing on how he chooses to fight silently. His environment, which included his
professors, classmates, and those in positions, also had an impact on him. He saw
firsthand how racial prejudice had crept into his immediate environment. He studied
hard and spread knowledge on how Spaniards mistreat Filipinos and run the
Philippines throughout the world because he valued treating people well.

3. What is your own reflection based on the film (Ganito Kami Noon, Paano Kayo Ngayon?)
- Being a student today is challenging but living through that era would have been even
more challenging. Just think about all the privileges we take for granted today, all the
access we enjoy, and the democracy they fought for which we are now enjoying. The
battle they were fighting back then is nothing compared to the one we, as millennials,
are fighting today. A wonderful film featuring Christopher De Leon as Nicolas Campo
and preserving our nationalism is “Ganito Kami Noon, Paano Kayo Ngayon
“. The adventures of Kulas, a young man who travels aimlessly while enjoying his
recently acquired horse in exchange for his land property following the death of his
mother, represent the search for an elusive Filipino identity at a time when, after a
brief period of Philippine independence from Spain, the United States took over as
colonizer. A stunning historical tale that describes the country's struggles to create its
cultural identity as seen through the eyes of a provincial young man from the Spanish-
American War up until the revolution against the Spanish Empire.

“Who is the authentic Filipino?” the film asks. Some claim that because they work for
the government, they are the real Filipinos. Some claim that because they were born
in the Philippines, they are Filipino. Additionally, some claim that because they speak
a foreign language, they are not Filipino. Moreover, some people claimed that
because they were born speaking "Bisaya" rather than Tagalog, they are not Filipino.
Many people in the nineteenth century don't know who or what they are.

Consequently, I draw the conclusion that the film "Ganito Kami Noon...Paano Kayo
Noon? " Took on sensitive and significant subjects in a very original, funny, and
symbolic way that used a lighthearted tone to convey these subjects, including the
mistreatment of the Filipinos by the Spaniards. The film confronts the varied
definitions of the name "Filipino," who are the actual Filipino, as well as the fight
between the rich and the poor, and the ignorance or lack of knowledge of Filipinos in
the provinces during those years - this is maybe its most important theme.
Additionally, it bravely portrayed the brutal reality that the Filipinos faced during
various periods of colonization by foreign invaders and what specific hardships did
they experience in the 19th century.
