Subject: New type of capacity transmitter for SAB 202

screw compressors

The type of capacity transmitter used for indicating the capacity slide and Vi slide posi-
tions on SAB 80 screw compressors (see Technical Information 2001/03) will in future
also be used on SAB 202 screw compressors.

Thus the request that the same capacity measuring system be used on all screw com-
pressors will be complied with.

As illustrated in Appendix 1 the same type of capacity transmitter will be used for indica-
tion of both the capacity slide position and Vi slide position.

The housing of the new capacity transmitter is cylindrical with a diameter of 75 mm and a
height of approx. 25 mm plus the height of the electric plug. Moreover, on the front of the
housing behind a screw lid there is a calibration button with a green and red diode, see fig.
1.

The capacity transmitter is made as a rod and can be mounted on all previously supplied
SAB 202 screw compressors.

On the lower side of the capacity rod housing an insulating plate is attached. This plate
insulates the housing from the warm compressor.
When replacing the capacity transmitter with the new type, the electronic system and elec-
tric plug can still be used, but it must be checked that the wiring connections comply with
the diagram, fig. 2.

Delivery
The new capacity transmitters will be mounted as standard on all SAB 202 screw com-
pressors as from May 2002.

Spare parts
The new capacity transmitter can be mounted by following a straightforward mounting pro-
cedure. Here it is recommended to use one of the alteration sets mentioned below. These
sets are supplied from YORK Refrigeration together with a detailed Mounting Instruction
no. 0171-980.

Compressors fitted with new type of transmitter

Appendix 1 shows a SAB 202 screw compressor fitted with capacity transmitters for in-
dication of both the capacity slide and the Vi slide position.

The following lists state the part numbers of the alteration sets and the parts which they
include. Please note whether the compressor in question is type L or S.
