I. What is Literature?

- Literature came from the word “Litera/Literra”

which means, “Acquaintance with letters”. It includes
works in various non-fiction genres that contains
autobiography, essays etc. Literature is any collection of
written work, that is used specifically like drama and
poetry.

II. What are the 2 (two) major forms of

Literature?
- Prose and Poetry.

III. 3 Types of Poetry

 Narrative Poetry
- narrative poetry tells a story.
 Dramatic Poetry
-dramatic poetry was literally performed in a stage or it is
like a play.
 Lyric Poetry
- it is intended to be sang.
 IV. Why do we need to learn/study
Literature?
- We need to learn literature for us to relate to
others. By reading through other perspective, we
can fulfill ourselves, into different mindset.
Studying Literature opens up to our lives an
inspiration, and creativity, it can also help us to
develop our comprehension skills, to express
and to deliver word by word. They say, when
students study Literature, they can also help
themselves by knowing their power is. They
appreciate every little word, group of words.
Lastly, they’ll know what their own culture is.
They’ll know what was emotion is, what is joy
and what is pain.
 V. What are the difference between Prose
and Poetry?
- Prose does not make use any rhyme at all, in other
words, it is like a full of grammatical sentence, like
we are building a paragraph. It exhibits a natural flow
of speech.
