Block C
Social Responsibility
Strengths:
I value diversity, defend human rights, advocate for others, and act ethically in all my
interactions, including online.
I am passionately defendant of human rights, and often find myself engaged in
heated conversations with people who think some should not have rights.
I have positive peer and intergenerational relationships.
I get along well with my friends and classmates, as well as my uncle, and my
older colleagues.
Weaknesses:
I am aware of my community and environment and work independently and
collaboratively for the benefit of others.
I lack social awareness or object permanence skills, which hinders my abilities to
be conscious of things going on in my community.
Critical Thinking
Strengths:
I can analyze and make defensible judgements, draw conclusions, and consider a
variety of perspectives.
I often get into debates with my blood relatives about societal issues, such as
human rights, and display my thinking in logical formatting.
I can analyze and critique my work and learning.
I never think I am good enough at anything, and am constantly analyzing and
critiquing everything I do.
Weaknesses:
I can explore and create new ways to represent my learning around a variety of
problems, events, issues, and needs.
I find it difficult to find new ways to put my thoughts into the world.
Creative Thinking
Strengths:
I can use the environment around me, including others, and my unconscious mind to
generate new ideas.
My surroundings often influence any poetry that I write.
I can create new and unique ideas that may provide new perspectives that influence
how people think about topics.
Connecting to the example above, my poetry can often provide a unique insight
into the topics I write about.
Weaknesses:
I can persevere and understand that failure can be productive.
Despite getting better at pushing through when things get difficult, I still think
that my personal failures are massive downfalls.
Communication
Strengths:
I can work with other students to plan, inquire, and solve problems.
I don’t have a “my way or the highway” type mindset, so I can take in other
people’s ideas.
I can engage in deep and meaningful inquiry for a variety of purposes and audiences.
Deep conversations about various topics are a pleasantry for me, providing I am
interested in the topic.
Weaknesses:
I can listen, learn to contribute meaningfully to discussion and debate, consider
different perspectives and build consensus.
Contributing to certain conversations can be difficult for me, as I don’t like to
interrupt people when they are speaking and everyone always seems to get a word
in before I can.
