In the Maximum Bubble test a capillary is immersed in the liquid and air pushed through while the
pressure inside the capillary is measured. As the pressure increases a bubble will push out of the

capillary into the liquid. Maximum pressure occurs when the bubble (drop) is hemispherical; after
which the bubble quickly expands and leaves the capillary. This sequence is shown in the graphic
(Wikipedia). The maximum pressure that occurs depends on the force exerted by the liquid ~ the
surface tension.
