Lesson 14: - Sunday 11th September-The Crucifixion

Scripture: Mark 15:12-15 Theme: Sacrifice

Main Truth: - Jesus gave up His life for us

Jesus Crucified:-Spread arms out.

Lesson opening sentence.

In today’s Bible story today learn that Jesus died to save us.
Bible story: -
1. Jesus was doing Gods work while on earth
2. Jesus and his disciples went to the garden of gethsemane to pray and while there Jesus was arrested
3. Jesus was asked if he was the Messiah and he said he was making the Jews very angry and they wanted to kill
him.
4. They took him to Pilate but he said Jesus had done nothing wrong. But the Jews didn’t listen to Pilate and they
whipped/beat Jesus and put a robe and a crown of thorns on his head.
5. Then Jesus was sent to be crucified (Spread arms out). He carried the cross to where he was crucified, meaning
the nailed his body onto a wooden cross and put a sign King of the Jews.
6. Jesus cried out to God and then died as a sacrifice for you and me because He loves us
7. There was earthquake and everything became dark, the soldiers who were still there saw what happened and
said that indeed Jesus was the Son of God.
8. Two followers of Jesus asked for Jesus body so they could bury it. They put it in a tomb and put a giant rock at
the entrance closing it completely.
Lesson closing Sentence: - Jesus didn’t have to die but He let it happened to save us. Jesus made a sacrifice for us.

1. Who does Jesus call to follow him?Only the perfect? (anyone, sinners)
2. What happened to Jesus before he was sent to the cross? (whipped, mocked, beaten) What happened when
Jesus died? (earthquake, everything dark)
3. Why did Jesus die even though he did nothing wrong? (as a sacrifice for us)
