Pollution is the introduction of contaminants into the natural environment that
cause adverse change. Pollution can take the form of chemical substances or energy,
such as noise ,heat or light.Pollutants, the components of pollution,can be either
foreign substances/energies or naturally occurring contaminants. Pollution is often
classed as point source or nonpoint source pollution.
 
There are mainly four types of pollution shown:

Air pollution is the introduction of particulates,biological molecules,or other
harmful materials into the Earth’s atmosphere,possibly causing disease,death to
humans, damage to other living organism such as food crops,or the natural or built
environment.
 
Air pollution is a significant risk factor for a number of health conditions
including respiratory infections,heart disease,COPD,stroke and lung cancer.

Water pollution is the contamination of water bodies (e.g.lakes,rivers,
oceans,aquifers and groundwater).Water pollution occurs when pollutants are
directly or indirectly discharged into water bodies without adequate treatment to
remove harmful compounds.
 
Water pollution affects plants and organisms living in these bodies of water.
In almost all cases the effect is damaging not only to individual species and
populations, but also to the natural biological communities.

In a general sense, soil pollution definition is the presence of toxic
chemicals (pollutants or contaminants) in soil in high enough concentrations to be
of risk to human health and/or ecosystem. Additionally, even when the levels of
contaminants in soil are not of risk, soil pollution may occur simply due to the
fact that the levels of the contaminants in soil exceed the levels that are
naturally present in soil (in the case of contaminants which occur naturally
in soil).

Noise pollution is the disturbing or excessive noise that may harm the
activity or balance of human or animal life. The source of most outdoor noise
worldwide is mainly caused by machines and transportation systems,motor vehicles,
aircraft and trains.Outdor noise is summarized by the world environmental
noise.Poor urban planning may give rise to noise pollution, since side-by-side
industrial and residential buildings can result in noise pollution in the
residential areas.
 
Noise pollution affects both health and behaviour. Unwanted sound (noise) can
damage psychological health. Noise pollution can cause trouble, hypertension, high
stress levels,tinnitus,hearing loss,sleep disturbances and other harmfull effects.

There are some ways to prevent pollution and safe our Earth. These are:
 
<ol>
<li> Plant trees! They provide shade, clean air, mask noise and need much
less water than lawns.
<li> Minimize the use of pesticides,herbicides,fertilizers. DO NOT dispose of
these chemicals,motor oil, or other automotive fluids into the sanitary sewer
systems. Both of them end at the river.
<li> Industry and transport areas can be separated into zones, residential
areas may be made at least 20 meters away from the main streets and the space be
thicky planted.
<li> Heavy vehicles should not be allowed to use narrow streets and the use
of horns and pressure horns be prohibited.
<li>Raising public awareness about the effect of noise pollution.
