Anong nag-encourage sayo para mag-STEM?/Bakit STEM ang pinili mong strand?

-To be honest, di naman ako magaling sa math, and di rin ako magaling sa
science. But out of all strands, STEM tlga because i know that STEM will help me
familliarize with the field of my preferred course. I'm planning tlga to pursue a
career in the medical field. Although hindi naman ako magaling sa math or
science, inisip ko na i think it's time to learn or embrace na science and math can
be found everywhere. To be honest, I'm interested in science kahit na hindi ako
masyadong nageexcel doon. And nakatulong na rin yung career planning noong
Grade 10 ako para pumili ng strand na kukunin. From that, I learned na out of all
strands, STEM will give me an indescribable thrill. And I also learned na STEM
tlga ang strand na interesting para sa akin.

Nakakaapekto ba yung dami ng kapwa babae na nasa isang STEM-related course

sa pagpili mo ng kurso?
- I think no, because I do not consider that as one of the factors sa pagpili ng
course. I don't mind naman choosing female or even male-dominated courses as
long as I know na yun tlga and course na gusto kong kunin.
Hindi maiiwasan ang pag st stereotype ng tao sa mga babae, Naranasan mo na
bang madiktihan ang kursong pipiliin dahil babae ka?
- As far as I know, hindi pa naman. I suppose it's just that I'm not surrounded by
people that stereotype women. Pero I know naman na marami tlgang kapwa babae
na nadidiktahan sa kursong pipiliin nila.
Kung kukuha ka ng isang male-dominated course, paano ka magsisikap dito
bilang isang babae?
- Of course, di ko ipapakita na intimidated ako. Di ko iisipin na I am not good or
qualified to be in a male-dominated course. I'm not going to strive to prove to
myself that I'm better than men; instead, I'm going to focus on doing what's best
for myself. I will not be scared to demonstrate what I know—to demonstrate my
talents and abilities, as well as to demonstrate that I have the willpower and will to
study.
Laganap ang pagcacategorize ng tao sa mga babae, paano mo masasabi na ang
mga babae ay panglahat ng kurso?
-I believe that there is nothing inherent in your gender that makes you more or
less suitable to pursue any course. Women, as well as everyone else, need to
realize that they have the freedom to choose from a wide range of courses. Hindi
naman tama na women are not free to do what they want or to pick any path. Di
rin tama na ang society mismo ang magdidikta kung ano ang karapat-dapat na
course ng mga babae, kung ano ang di pwede sa kanila. At the end of the day, it is
their own choice (I'm pertaining to women), not society's, that is most important.
Kailan mo nararamdaman na gusto mo na ayaw mo na mag-STEM o may ganoon
ba na feeling
- To be honest, I always feel that. Noon, sobrang excited ko noon dahil nga I
know that stem is a fun strand to take pero noong nagstart na ako bilang isang
stem student, sobrang hirap pla tlga. Oo, I expected already that Stem is a
challenging strand pero mas challenging pla pag naranasan mo nang maging
isang Stem student. Yes, may ganoong feeling na gusto ko na ayaw ko nang
mag-stem. That I feel like giving up kasi sobrang stress ko na but at the same
time, iniisip ko parin na kakayanin ko to, that I will overcome these challenges
for my career for my future, for my family, and for those who believe in me that
I can be successful oneday. Yes, meron na yung time na nagregret akong mag-
STEM. I feel compelled to change strand because it is becoming too difficult for
me to bear, but I constantly battle that urge and remind myself that I must
stick to my own decisions.
