1. Why do we study ethics?

Ethics is the action of judgement by any person or group of individuals which are evaluated on the basis
of the rightfulness and wrongfulness, ethics also provides us with a set of standards to assist us judge if a certain
behavior is ethical or not. It is influenced by a variety of factors, including socialization, legislation, and
religion. Studying ethics offers opportunities and chances to think deeply about the ideas that govern life. There
are few ways to develop one's consciousness and knowledge of the values of others without thinking. A study of
ethics should culminate in the development of skills in expressing one's own opinions as well as comprehending
the rationales for various institutions, politics, and society values in general. If you practice ethics, you can live
a true life. If you want your life to be true and meaningful, you must live it with integrity. Being ethical aids
success. Ethics can help you achieve inner peace. Ethics allows for the creation of a stable society. Ethics may
be useful in the afterlife. In addition, ethics is important because of the following:

Satisfying Basic Human Requirements: Being fair, honest, and ethical is one of the basic human needs. Every
employee wants to be such and to work for a firm that adheres to moral standards.

Increasing Credibility: People value a firm that they believe is motivated by moral ideals, even if they are
unaware of how its operations or activities are carried out. For example, Infosys is known for promoting social
responsibility programs and good corporate governance.

Bringing People and Leadership Together: Employees value a firm that is founded on its basic values. They
operate as a linking element, putting decision-makers and employees on same footing.

Improving Decision Making: A man's fate is made up of all the decisions he/she makes during his/her career.
The same may be said for enterprises. Decisions are influenced by values.

Securing the Society: In safeguarding the society, ethics usually triumphs over legislation. Law enforcement is
frequently a bystander, helpless to safeguard society or the environment.

In other words, we join a human community with one or more assigned qualities and roles that we must acquire
in order to understand how others react to us and how our reactions to them may be understood. Ethics teaches
us to face the world and suffer all that occurs to us, and it assists us in developing mechanisms that we will use
to confront and enjoy life. Ethics emerges as an essential moral requirement.
2. What is the basis to say that an action is right or wrong?

It should be evident by now that morality is something that science cannot examine. There is no
scientific technique that can measure moral virtue or evil. As a result, you must determine what is reasonable to
believe. You most likely already have some ideas about what you should and should not do. Doing right or
wrong is depends in our situation and how we think that it might help a situation that need to be solve. There is
a chance that we think that one solution is the key in a problem even though it’s not that perfectly good but we
still go for its since it’s the only way we think to solve a problem, this is because we analyze our options like
common-sense, ends-based, rule-based, care-based, and fairness or justice. After that we do it either it is good or
bad, we must always reflect. This final step may be the most important. If you had it to do over again, would you
make the same decision? What would you do differently? What were the responses to your decision? Reflection will
help prepare you for the inevitable tough choices that will present themselves again.
