AN ARTICLE – UNIT 8 (FRIENDSHIP)
A FRIENDSHIP FOREVER:
5 years ago, I met Diego, who will become my best friend until now. All started when I realized
that he was in the mobility with which I went to school. I also saw he eating alone, so I think he
was having trouble interacting with others. So, I decided to talk with him, he told me he was
interested in making new friends, so I tried to help him. After a week he got 15 new friends,
and our friendship became super cool.

A CONVERSATION – UNIT 11 (SPORTS)
Manuel: Hey, Marco, how’s it going?
Marco: Everything is fine and you?
Manuel: Also, by the way, did you hear about Tokyo 2020 games?
Marco: Yes, but I understand that it was held in 2021 due the pandemic.
Manuel: But it was very good, there were several sports and with what I like sports.
Marco: Me too, I love sports extremely. So, I planning to enroll in a sports workshop.
Manuel: JAJAJA, what a curious fact because I also going to enroll in a sports workshop.
Marco: So, what sport do you like to practice more?
Manuel: I usually play basketball on weekends, but what I enjoy playing the most is golf, but
since it's summer, I won't be able to play much golf, because autumn is the best time to play it.
Marco: I’m a big fan of basketball too. And about golf, I think summer is also a good time to
play. But do you play golf alone or accompanied?
Manuel: I play with the neighbors of an apartment, older people have more experience and can
teach me more about this sport.
Marco: Oh JAJAJA, you’re right, but the young too.
Manuel: And what about you? What sport you like?
Marco: Well, as I said I like basketball, although I would like to practice ski, because I like the
mountains and it’s a risky sport. Adrenaline and excitement make it wonderful.
Manuel: Ohhh, I practiced ski and believe me it’s a very exhausting sport but full of emotion as
you say.
Marco: Thanks, so see you later.
Manuel: See you too.

There’s also zero article, only since it’s a zero article I can’t highlight.
A LETTER – UNIT 12 (GIVING ADVICE)
Sunday 23rd January
Juan Quispe
Lima, Peru.
Dear Karen, I heard that you have many problems in your life, that’s why I’m writing this letter to give you
good encouragement and some advices. First of all, about your family problems I understand that your
parents assign you a lot of housework and that it bothers you, but it’s normal because it happens to most
teenagers who do nothing for as long as they have and believe me that is little compared to what my
parents leave me. Always it’s good to help with something at home.
On the other hand, the pandemic hit us all, and I think that's why your grades decreased and what I
suggest is that you organize yourself better for every hour of your day, now that you've finished high
school and you don't have any homework. It’s better to prepare for what the university will bring us, write
down some notes that you think are important and can help you later and don't let your emotions play
tricks on you.
Finally, the most difficult for me, coronavirus. My deepest condolences to your family, I know you lost a
relative and you can't avoid cry or regret, it’s normal, but this experience leaves us something, we must be
strong for the number of barriers that destiny puts on us. Be strong and know that if you need anything,
I'm here to help you.
I hope you can overcome all these problems and see you soon.
I send you big hugs.
Juan Quispe.
