INTRODUCTION

“The skills of writing letter have been changed during several


last decades. We do not write the same letters as our
grandparents wrote.

There were some changes also in the writing of business


letter. Nowadays business letter have more elegance style
than they have fifty or even twenty years ago. Massive
sentences, complicated grammar constructions, stereotype
and the business letter and try to write them clear, short and
polite”[8,5].

Business correspondence is a very delicate kind of


communication. Letters have to be well planned because they
are representatives of the firms. Appearance of the letter, its
style and tone can tell a lot of things about the sender and
the organization.

Letter writing –is an essential part of communication, an


intimate part of life experience and business. Each letter-
writer has a characteristic way of writing, his style of
writing, his way of expressing thought, facts, etc. But it must
be emphasized that the routine of the official or semi-official
business letters requires certain accepted idioms, phrases,
patterns, and grammar which are fond in general use today.
Therefore certain skills must be acquired by practice, and
details of writing must be carefully and thoroughly,

A cheque, a contract or any other business paper sent by mail


should always be accompanied by a letter. The letter says
what is being sent so that the recipient should know exactly
what you intended to send. It is typical business letter which
some people call ‘routine’. The letter may be short or long, it
may be contain some very important and much less important-
every letter requires careful planning and thoughtful writing.
The choice of this topic for this course paper was mostly
conditioned by the fact that the student studying English at
our University are almost unable to write proper business
letter and that the problem of writing business letters is still
not well-studied.
I think that it is very important to know a constituent part of
modern business communication. Nowadays more and more
