Dear Friends,

Helping the Needy Students affected by the Prevailing Deteriorating Economic Situation of The Country

We hope all of you understand the ongoing pathetic situation of the country and the difficulties faced by the public
for their daily needs.

The university students are no exceptions as they also go through a very difficult period with this deteriorating
economy. Most of them are given the Mahapola scholarship from the Government but that is hardly adequate for
their daily needs under the present circumstances. Their parents can no longer support their children. Due to this
some have reduced the intake of number of their daily meals and facing severe trauma.

We have received a request from the Vice Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya, seeking financial assistance to
help these needy students for a period of 06 months.

We, as PEFAA Colombo Chapter have decided to help the neediest students of the Engineering Faculty of the
University of Peradeniya with a financial assistance of Rs. 3,000.00 per month per student, which would be continued
for a period of 06 months. (Total per Student Rs. 18,000.00). Since PEFFA Colombo Chapter does not have adequate
funds for this purpose we have decided to solicit financial assistance from alumni of our Engineering Faculty, who are
financially sound and our well-wishers who would be generous enough to provide assistance for this good cause.

Out of the lot (students) in need of help estimated by the Vice Chancellor we propose to help minimum of 100
students with priority given to the students in the Engineering Faculty. These needy students will be selected by the
University together with Dean.

Herewith we have attached the request letter received from the Vice Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya for
your reference.

We here by kindly request from you all our alumni and well-wishers to contribute as much as possible for this good
cause.
