Prof Ed 110 Building and Enhancing New Literacies Across the Curriculum

The foundation of education in the Philippines was influenced by many foreign

curriculum experts. Different ideas were gathered to help in creating a one whole new
curriculum, like what we have today. It is important that we have a content basis in order for it to
become effective.
As a future educator, we need to learn about the curriculum and its content. We need this
to have a stronger foundation in meeting the standards of learning, and to know if our way of
teaching is meeting the needs of our students.
It shows that everything has a basis. Theories and studies were done and tested to prove
something. It helps us in developing and utilizing our knowledge. If we look back into all of
these, we can understand what works for our learners and what works for us as a teacher. We can
also be aware if we need to change something that is not working.
