I.

Physical education is a school subject which aims to develop physical, mental and
emotional, spiritual and social fitness. It is done through a day-to-day activity, such as
dancing, exercising and playing sports such as basketball, volleyball, swimming and etc. It is
also about caring and developing the human body including hygiene. On a personal matter,
physical education is an agent that promotes wellness and healthy living and lifestyle.

The function of Physical Education is to help the students acquire skills, develop an
affection in their activities, and develop physical skill competence. The individual growth of
each student and the development of the total body movement are guided with safety
precautions when it comes to physical activities

The objectives of Physical Education are to implement social, professional, physical and
recreational activities to the students. It aims to make the students physically, mentally and
emotionally fit to the world especially now that we are facing the pandemic. It also aims to
discipline the students to a better and healthy lifestyle.

II.

Rhythmic Activities - are series of movements in which individuals can take part during any
steady and prominent beat. This unit is prepared for students to gain knowledge on the
importance of rhythmic activities, the role it plays in the development of nationalism, and the
preservation of our cultural heritage. It will help the students to improve self-expression
through dance interpretation, creating and performing simple movements.
Rhythms - denote as aspect of quality of movement, which is sometimes as a dance.
Structured forms, which start creative rhythmic movements, are sometimes are called
rhythm.
Intensity - refers to the amount of effort needed to perform a given physical activity or
exercise People usually categorize this as low, moderate, or high intensity. Depends on the
person and how long they’ve been working out.
Duration - The time over which the physical activity takes place. This can vary from very
short bouts of only a few seconds, to many hours of continuous activity
Bar – one small segment of music that holds a number of beats.

Measure – is a segment of time within a piece of music defined by a given number of beats.
Each measure is separated by a bar. Within each measure, beats are represented by a
particular note value and the boundaries of the bar are indicated by vertical bar lines.

Phrase – is a unit of musical meter that has a complete musical sense of its own, built from
figures, motifs, and cells, and combining to form melodies, periods and larger sections
Meter – is the property of music that it is based on an underlying, repeating beat rhythm,
whereas time signatures are the symbols we use to identify and describe the meter in a
piece of music.
Time Signature – are the symbols we use to identify and describe the meter in a piece of
music.

Note Pattern – is a succession of musical events contained within a single metric unit that
corresponds to a single main beat.

Notes – These are the words of the musical language. They tell us what note to play and for how
long.

Rest – are musical symbols used to designate when to pause and not play.

Dance - a form of expression of oneself through rhythmic movement. It also refers to


movement set to music where there emerges organization, structure and pattern. It is a
composition that implies arrangement of parts into a form.
Dancing - a means of expressing one's emotions through movement disciplined by rhythm.
it is an act of moving rhythmically and expressively to an accompaniment
Literature - is art that shares a story and develops a theme for the audience. While it can
stand alone as a form of art, it also is closely related to other art forms.
