Since Camelot is a kingdom the economy is driven by the kings and the knights. There is not much foreign trade and thus no external factors can influence the economy. There are three major market places, the one closest to the castle being the largest. Mining is also taken up in parts of the country and large resources of iron ore are present. This has spawned knowledge of casting and forging which has helped in the development of weapons. Charms and amulets are very commonplace and one of the fastest selling products in the market. The market always has a good supply of vegetables and meat as desired. The tax rates are comparatively low as compared to other kingdoms in Europe. Piracy is a small threat to the economy. The Castle consumes close to 20 % of the GDP and employs close to 500 people. There is always a threat of invasion by France from across the channel but the army is not a permanent one and is usually only assembled when any threat arises. The people are willing to experiment with new products but the church in the past held a sway over the demand and the product which was damned by the church was immediately out of demand.

The GDP per capita is 250 Shillings and the population below poverty line is 14 percent. The inflation experienced is 0.3 percent. The country has a military expenditure of 11000 Shillings.

TheKnights

Knights are the followers of the kings. They are the elite soldiers of the king. Knights are supposed to protect the weak, defenceless, helpless, and fight for the general welfare of all. They protect the country from outside or internal attacks. Knighthood consists of all kinds of training including hunting, fighting, and riding horses. Apart from the physical training, knights are courteous and have honourable behaviour. Chivalry is the main principle guiding a knights life style. The code of chivalry deals with three main areas: the military, social life, and religion.

Lifestyle:

Becoming a knight is not a very social friendly job in this medieval era. Only the sons of a knight are eligible to the ranks of knighthood. Those who are destined to become knights are singled out of society. In the years of boyhood, these future warriors are sent off to be trained using horses, weapons, fighting, and also courtesy. Commonly around the age of twenty, knights are admitted to their deserved rank by a ceremonial process called dubbing. Although these strong young men have proved true to their eligibility, their social status is permanently controlled. The codes of chivalry are expected at all times and any failure to follow instructions is not accepted. Apart from saving the country, knights enjoy drinking and spend majority of their free time hunting, drinking wine, dressing in expensive clothes and jewels, and indulging in the oldest business known to man. They also have hunting dogs that aid them during their hunting trips.

When it comes to courtship, a knight can only marry a girl belonging to the family of Knights.

Weapons and armour: Knights wear iron suits for wars and the armour consists of helmets, cuirass (the breastplate and the back panel), pauldron, Vambrace, couter, gauntlet, leg greave, sword, mace, dagger.

TheCourtiers
A courtier is a person who attends the court of the king. Courtiers are not all noble, as they also include clergy, soldiers, clerks, traders, agents and middlemen of all sorts with regular business at court. The courts are centre of politics, culture and patronage.

Lifestyle: As per hierarchy, courtiers come below the knights. Their lifestyle is inspired by the knights though they dont match up to their elegance and panache. The courtiers spend the day handling their trade or work at the Kings court. A majority of the courtiers spent their free time gambling, drinking mead etc. They engross themselves in expensive wardrobe and trinkets. The courtiers are proud people and wear the best clothes they can afford so as to be noticed. It has been noticed that many of the courtiers ill treat the peasants and take undue advantage of them. To commute, courtiers use horses to travel. The only difference between a knights and courtier horse is the breed of the horse and the coat of arms.

PeasantsandWorkers
These are the people who came from the surrounding villages of Camelot. They are main occupation is farming, which is basically step farming. They also act as domestic help to the courtiers and knights.

Lifestyle: They are at the lowest level of the hierarchy. They dont make much money and as a result do not engross themselves in luxuries. They wear woollen clothes and have mules and donkeys to help them carry loads while commuting and also in farming. Their expenditure is on food and clothing as well as fodder for their animals which includes mules, donkeys and dogs. Commutation is primarily on foot.

General

The water used for farming is carried from a river in Camelot. However, there are no pipes and the peasants are required to carry water on donkeys or mules to the farms. Also, the river water is used for washing and bathing. The domestic helpers carry water from the river to the homes of knights and courtiers
