Dissection of Flower Activity

Part Description/Characteristics Cell Structure

The surface of the petal we used is
smooth, and the color of the petal
is a pink gradient. In the
Petal microscope, the petal appeared to
have tiny dark spots scatted
everywhere.

The sepal is the little green

structure located beneath the petal.
Under the microscope, the spots in
a sepal are smaller than the petal
Sepal but still has the same structure.
Only difference was the abundance
of string-like structures similar to
hair.
The anther is the yellow part on the
tip of the thin strands. The cell
Anther structure is similar to the firs two,
but with longer strands of hair-like
structures.

Located in the middle part of the

flower. The style is a long structure
Style that holds the stigma above it. It
has very few spots located in the
cell structure and instead has these
long thick strands.
The stigma is located above the
style, with color different to the
pollen grain located beside it. It
Stigma has a dark color on its tip. The cell
structure is similar to the style but
with much thinner hair-like
structures.

Located underneath the style. The

texture of the ovary is very wet and
Ovary sticky. The structure looks similar
to concrete, and it seems rough. It
has smaller spots than the other
ones.
