Social realism art struck me the most, out of all of the art styles
between impressionism and expressionism. Social realism is the art
form where artists take inspiration from the real socio-political
conditions in the world. From what I see, it is one way for artists to
warn the people about the undesirable things happening in the world.
Undesirable things such as injustice, inequality, sexual harassment,
slavery, poverty, rape, corruption, and many more social problems we
face. I admire how the artists are aware of these occurrences and help
open the eyes of the people who aren’t or who cannot see them
happening. I love how they can highlight political and social issues in a
form of art. Although art itself is very impressive, artworks that aim for
the awareness and betterment of people is totally brilliant. I also
admired how artists of social realism can put tiny little details in their
works that really give depth and more meaning to the art piece. These
types of art give me hope, that people out there see all the wrong and
horrible things in this world and aim for change. I also am thankful for
them to have the courage to do so.
